Oh my goodness I LOVE this topic! I’ve struggled with an eating disorder and still struggle with the vegan community not acknowledging how unhealthy relationships with food can really hurt people.

I feel like going vegan has really helped me with my relationship with food because since I eat a much more balanced and healthy diet, I don’t end up binging at the end of the day :) great topic loved this video

“Turning off the external turning on the internal” I love that...I’ve been a strict vegan for years now and this made me wake up to all of the ridiculous things and rules I tell myself. Great video!❤️

My relationship with food in my teens and early twenties was rough..binging and purging constantly. When I became pregnant at 25 everything changed (thankfully) and I found the vegan/ plant based way of living. Now at 30 it is so much better and more balanced. It's not always perfect, there are definitely days when I struggle mentally, but I have little eyes watching and little ears listening, so I do my best to be a good role model for him.

Thank you so much for talking about this subject !! My relationship with food has not always been great, I’ve struggled a lot and I used to get into really bad pattern of obsessing over my weight, over exercising and binge eating... Now I am much better. I love that veganism allows me to eat an abundance of delicious food ! I also love to work out now, over all I feel much healthier inside and outside and I have so much more energy. Thank you for talking about this 💕

Such a great topic! As a recovering yo-yo dieter I super appreciated this whole concert and the science behind it! I had no idea about the enzymes preparing while you are cooking! Makes so much sense! I always feel lousy after eating in a restaurant! Now I know why! I’m 8 months pregnant right now so being very careful with what I feed my body and I’m looking forward to having this baby and eating intuitively after he’s here in order to nourish my body and make sure it produces really healthy milk for him!!! No joke, I put meals in my day planner. As a Realtor my schedule is bananas. I need to plan out meal time or I forget to eat.

I think right now I am more in a cycle of withhold/indulge. I am just not "hungry" through the day, then come to supper and I'm starving and eat a ton. I am going to try to set timers for when I need to eat and spend my 30 seconds before and after to know myself a bit better. Thanks guy! This was a great topic and something I needed. 💕

I would not presume to give advice to you,as I am not a nutritionist or anything. But... that worked for me! I used to wait too long to eat, and I would be very grumpy and have a headache, and then eat too much. Now that I eat on a schedule (it's not rigid) I feel better, have fewer mood swings, and my reflux 🔥 is gone.

My dog's name is also Sprout!!! He is 6 years old and I rescued him from an animal snare trap when he was 2 weeks old. Found him on a farm. He's a Greyhound Terrier mix 😁 much love from South Africa!

This is such an amazing topic. I love the fact that you tackle food relationships. My family is transitioning from vegetarian to vegan but re-evaluating what our goals, and what our relationship with food are. This would make a GREAT Ted talk.

I really appreciate that you are using your influence to spread positive messages about eating intuitively! Many kudos to you all! I struggled with such a severe eating disorder that I had to be fed through a feeding tube (surgically inserted in my small intestine) for a full year. Surprisingly, I recovered completely and now eat intuitively. However, as a result of the damage I inflicted on my body I have to be MUCH more mindful of what/when I eat which is frustrating.

Loved this video! After I went vegan I found myself eating cupcakes on a Tuesday just because there was a cupcake that was vegan! I never really did this before, it(cupcakes and things) had alway been more of a treat. It took a bit to figure out that to feel my best on a vegan diet I needed to eat healthy foods the majority of the time and to have those treats once in awhile, when I really wanted it, not just because it was there. That being said, it is awfully difficult to travel to places to LA and not eat ALL the vegan junk food because it's there and I know I wont get another opportunity to eat it! I'm looking at you Donut Friend!!

This is one of my favorite videos you’ve made yet! ☺️ I think I really needed to hear all these things you said right now. I’m really trying to be more intune with my own body and not listen to all the fads social media is showing. I’m really going to start trying to sit down with my food and actually enjoy it instead of hurrying up and eating and getting to my next task for the day.

Loved this talk...so comforting to hear you discuss this subject. You talk about using the excuse that we're vegan to eat junk food..for me it's to eat big portions. Because it's healthy I can eat huge bowls of food which continually keeps me in a cycle of guilt. And I just can't eat around other people, even those I love...I have a complete mental block with this. It's like I have to hide to eat....really struggling with this....

I recommend Kimberly Snyder’s book “The Beauty Detox Power” where she discusses cravings and how your emotions affect what you crave (crunchy, salty, etc.). She also says if you love body and nourish it from a place of love, instead of plotting and planning on how to make it skinnier it will respond with increased health, vitality and energy. This helped me because I realized I was addicted to the feeling of hunger. It was crazy. If I ever felt full or even just satisfied it triggered feeling depressed. Crazy!

As odd as it MAY seem. I started noticing that I was binging on kale chips, even when I wasn't hungry.😑 I love salty/savory foods...and I LOVE THESE KALE CHIPS. While it may NOT seem like a big deal to some, they're dehydrated with a nooch and cashew "marinade", and easily 400 calories a container, a lot of sodium. I was eating around 4-5 containers per day, NOT including my actual meals. I went on my usual every quarter detox to get back on track. All is well. I only have them a few times/week. They're REALLY addictive!!!😬 They're so FREAKING delicious.😂
