I worked as colourist for a while, so I'm used to work on some other's work, but I never did it on an illustration, I don't know if it would works good for me in that case. Great paint as usual.

This may seem a bit cheeky but have you ever considered asking blizzard for a spot on their launcher. So your video is on there, I think even people who aren't into art would be really interested in this if they like the game. It is a really interesting process which I think lots of players would like to see

Trent please elaborate on this question if it's within your legal ability to do so. I am also curious how much they pay artists to make card illustrations. You don't need to go into exact detail, but a ballpark figure would be nice :) thank you

BombaJead no idea but let's say he charges based on hour, probably $20-100 an hour at 6hrs, plus whatever he pays his collab artist. Could be more as he's a veteran idk this is just my educated guess.

Yeah, from what I've seen pro's generaly use hourly rates, as for how much per hour, that's probably different for every single one as a lot of things go into account comming up with that.

Hey Trent, I’m making a card game and I’m looking to hire artists. How where you paid per card and for the copyright? I’m only using the info u give me as a template so I can figure out how to pay my artist.

Every contract between an artist is going to be different. Sometimes they get royalties on sales. Sometimes they get a flat fee for a set number of pieces of art. Sometimes they get to own the original artwork and/or sell it, or monetize it in other ways. You have to structure it in a way that works for both parties. If the artists are okay with a flat rate, then that should be in the contract for each artist. You should also define how many iterations or changes are allowed in the process. Paying artists for 100+ cards is going to cost you an awful lot of money if you want good art.
