💥For those of you that are saying he doesn't have to call the shot because it's an obvious shot. Here is the written rule on a combo shot in this tournament hope this helps 👇 6.0 CONTINUING PLAY - CALL POCKET On the shot immediately following a legal break and/or a Push Out, the shooting player must contact the lowest numbered ball on the table or it is a foul. Unlike 9-Ball, 10-Ball is a “Call Pocket” game and the shooter is encouraged to specify all balls along with their intended pocket. However, obvious balls and their respective pockets do not have to be specified. Any bank shot (object ball to rail), kick shot (rail(s) to object ball), or combinations (2 or more balls) must be called to their designated pocket, or they are considered a miss. When a player successfully pockets the designated object balls, they continue their inning until either a miss, foul, or win occurs.

At first I didn't but at 5:57 you can definitely hear Mika say 9 ball, right before the announcer says five nine. That's a stupid thing to have to call. Pretty sad if you try to win from that type of technicality. The worst thing is losing your temper and acting like that.

This happened to my teammate and I can tell you that when the opponent contested it, it does raise your anger level. In the moment, you feel that the opponent is trying to win on a technicality, knowing full well your intended pocket as everyone else is witnessing too. The pocket is called, and is attempting to find anyone who will agree. This is poor sportsmanship and to me, is fully understandable that a reaction such as Mika’s can occur. Sure, he could’ve diffused the situation, but what would you do if your opponent is trying to steal the match? In this case, it’s for money. That makes it even more tenable.

It’s petty, but I see no fault in Mika. High stakes raises importance of each play. Question: was it the ref who questioned the nine ball call? De Luna appeared surprised but not reserved to try and take advantage of questioning. This eagerness to jump in, despite it appearing as a pretty obvious combination play, and a minor technicality question, is what blistered Mika’s nerves. Easy to understand De Lunas eagerness with high stakes,…. He did seem to manage conceding initially after the review. Mika’s outburst is simple to expect, but it also triggered De Luna’s continuation of the challenge. At that point, respect was lost, what’s to loose by continuing the challenge? So, Mika should have been more collected than shouting “yes”. Emphasizing the future calls is ok. The “yes” was mocking and disrespectful. De Luna had no other way to challenge back, but can’t really expect him to absorb without any response. Could be better for all to stop, take 2 min.. Ref can improve by taking the control. Sitting each player, taking credit f original questioning, acknowledge it could have been an issue of a quiet verbal by Mika, but the explain the words were mouthed, and the combination was simple and clear to see. Players frustration would be directed away from each other. They’d have a moment allowed to collect, and move forward. Simple, dummy

He looked really unsettled the whole game, i would love to see the entire match and also find out whether he has a history of having bad calls made against him.
