2 months into dating a guy 8 years younger than me. I'm 39 and he is 31. He has a start up and has to concentrate on that. Also he says he has trust issues that has nothing to do with me and he is working on that. With that said, we meet almost every week and mostly on weekdays. He used to text every day and calls every other day. He ain't texting every day now but a couple of weeks he called everyday and recently he couldn't call frequently because he was unwell and had work pressure. How does this situation sound? P.S. we had a discussion about marriage after a month of dating and he asked for a year to know more about each other to take it to that stage.
@joshpatrick88092 жыл бұрын
@@ennkay2756 if he says he is busy, leave it at that...don't act like it's not going anywhere. You've only been dating for a month and already talking about marriage? You need to chillax, for real. You move too fast and he will think you're a gold digger and just want to get his money. Do what he said and get to know each other better before rushing into something as major as a marriage. He has trust issues as well...you move too fast and you're probably going to get the opposite result. Just saying...don't disregard him and his feelings/choices...if he wants to take a break from you, let him...he needs time to work and sort out his life. If you truly love him, let him do what he needs to do.

I kept affirming I am chosen I am a priority and I am important. We have been going out for 8 months but the pace has never increased and never seems to get off ground. Recently I asked more personal questions and it seemed like he pulled away even more. Then I realise I was affirming choosing myself. Today I had an epiphany. I told him I was unwell and I just wanted to share it with him. He just gave me a usual gif and he didnt even ask me how I was feeling the next day. I just snapped internally. Like I just woke up. I cried for many hours because I was suppressing so much disappointment for so long. But I finally felt free. All the points you said are 100% him. I'm done with making excuses for him. F that. Thank you for this.

This just happened to me 10mins ago speaking to a guy for 3days and he asks me out I say ok he said let’s go for a lunch I say ok he said pick somewhere I did and a time. Then tonight (I’m from uk) I text him hi how are you and he responded im shattered from long hours at work. I said oh well rest have a early night he then says I need some TLC …I said only tlc iknow is hot chocolate and rest. He responded I meant hot sexy…doughnut. And I responded whelp krispy cream is a good shout. And he went silent. So 2hours ago I texted him About a tv show no response. And just now I texted see you tomorrow at 13. No response. NOW it’s confirmed to me as I’m not stupid he went into a child strop and gone quiet this evening becos I caught him out in trying to be slick with his words about TLC and I shut it down with hot chocolate. He prob wants to sleep with me. Instead saw this video just now on KZbin and it’s a sign. Lol I’m no going anywhere 2mrow.

ALWAYS mirror a man! That's exactly how you know his worth. Helena is right...in doing so....keep keeping on....keep dating other men....go out with your friends......enjoy family time...enjoy your hobbies....travel....trust and believe......look for his consistency and mood swings...2 very important things. Many men claim they want a relationship when in reality...they only want casual sex and they have multiple women in motion at one time.

It’s a narcissistic man-whom YOU always have to fit YOUR life into HIS schedule. There’s little to no give and take; just give. Your life revolves around him; because in his mind everyone revolves around him (a lot like how a child feels; narcissists never grew up emotionally…no matter HOW responsible they are in the work world, etc.)

Ladies! Dont think that being understanding of his excuses about the situation is gonna inspire him to want more with you. He has to EARN your understanding AFTER he has been consistent in showing up in your life. Because lets keep it 💯, WE ALL HAVE STUFF GOING ON IN OUR LIVES. And, Im sure many of you still make time for the people you love even if it's hard. Therefore, his excuse for why he cant do "x" right now is trivial. You want someone you can depend on and you can build a life with someone who does make you a top priority!

A narcissist will often have all the qualities/traits you’re looking for in a partner: he’s social, spiritual, super smart, funny, happy, optimistic, high energy, etc., etc., etc. So you end up putting him on that pedestal…which is RIGHT where he wants to be (but not in the long run). And if he hurries into a committed relationship, you may think, “Wow! I’ve never received such intense interest and motivation for commitment from a guy before!” Narcissists rush into relationships. They don’t give themselves enough time to get to know the other person long-term; or even get to know THEMSELVES when around this person. Don’t fool yourself: just because he “has all the qualities” you’re looking for,…how do YOU feel about YOURSELF when you two are a thing? Do you feel insecure about whether he cares as deeply for you as you do for him? Women, make sure the guy loves you JUUUST a little more than you love him! -so you can feel secure he’s in it for the long run.

I‘m watching this and I’m SHOCKED how much I refused to take all the signs seriously. We’ve been in a relationship for three years and I felt for a long time that he’s not giving me what I want and deserve. When we fight everything is my fault, how I want to be treated is „just not his way“ (he literally said that calling and flowers and other stuff is not his way of showing love but obviously good communication and true consistency isn’t either so what is?) and my expectations are too high, „that’s not how a relationship works“. On other days he’s lovey dovey and crazy about me and the next day I’m stupid for not being able to give him what he needs. My gut told me long ago that it’s not working and I silenced these feelings and rationalized everything, hoping he would come around and if I just work on myself everything will work out. Well: i worked on myself A LOT, I grew massively personally, still nothing changed, but I developed the strength to wish him all the best and walk away. Never again.

Good looking, hard working Indian man I met online in December We live 7 hours apart in CA. He love bombed me at first. Excuses, he started bew job, stress and promotion. I have been worried and stressed about him for months. I literally asked him again about us and finally meeting? I do not trust him. We have had falling out. Now he doesn't call me. Just breadcrumb messages. Done with him, sick of him. I have bent over backwards. Space, time, patient, accommodating. I stopped initiating contact. If he sends me message, I will no longer respond. Thank you, Helena, for laying out all the signs that he’s not the one! Unfortunately, I got tangled up with this guy who was every point on this list to look out for, for 8.5 years! He is a narcissist, and he refuses to let me go, despite me finally cutting all ties with him for good. He just surfaced again recently (and multiple times since last December) full of apologies and begging for me to respond to him, NEVER AGAIN! His behavior destroyed my self esteem, which then took me two years to repair. I love me too much to allow him back in to my life, in any capacity. At our foundation, despite what he says to the contrary, I realize that he was never my friend. I recognize that a true friend would never treat me like he did, nor press on my vulnerabilities now to selfishly try to hook me again. It’s awful to realize how often this happens (that you addressed it in a video and so many girls can relate), but it’s extremely helpful to have validation via your insight that these signs are red flags and an indication to value yourself and leave the situation. Thank you so much, Helena!!🤗

12 years. Yes, "there's always something". Exactly. Either his job, or his retirement (yes), or other women, or his father, or COVID, or money, .... He's not putting his life on hold, but dragging me along and throwing breadcrumbs at him. Also: just randomly throwing in the things he knows you're looking for, without meaning it (e.g. marriage, mowing to live with you, spending vacation with you, to having a child together). He doesn't plan with you, but things he prioritizes, he has no issue to plan on time. It's 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

Wow yes EVERYTHING was on his terms & as soon as I called him out on breadcrumbing me he disappeared. I told him actions speak louder than words. His answer was always maybe for plans although he kept telling me how special I am. When I told him I date with intention He told me his intentions are pure but “nondescript.” Yet at the same time he told me he sees things through & doesn’t give up easily. It was just all over the place. I moved forward & never looked back.

Met an older “divorced” guy from out of state when I was out one night. We really hit it off and he pursued me daily for over 2 months. Good morning/goodnight texts and consistent communication throughout the day even LD. He even drove back to visit me for my birthday weekend. However, the texts started fading over a few days span and then I just didn’t get the usual text back from him. I waited 4 days and still 👻 I got a weird gut feeling so I checked his FB and to my surprise his status said “married” when it didn’t say that before. I got pissed! Immediately cursed him out and blocked him.

I told her to get out of my face and back off or I'll have her arrested for harassment. So warped how they blame me for him being unfaithful to her and me having no clue. Unbelievable!

@@starcatcher3691 there was no violence involved. She actually put her hand up in the air and kept pointing it at me. I was in the line for the bathroom, she walked up stood within 2 feet of me and "confronted" me. I put both of my hands up to block her. Even my friend told her to back off. It was uncalled for and childish actually. Btw, I don't do well with confrontation. It triggers ptsd from past abuse.

I haven't dated in a while. I actually took myself off the market. I took time to get more into myself and the things I love to do. I recently met someone while I was in a store. I was loading water on to my cart. This employee/truck driver helped me. He had a big smile on his face. After I checked out and walked out to my car he followed me and helped me load the water into my car. He started talking to me. And ask for my number. I kind of felt he was watching me on surveillance in the store. It kind of creeped me out. But after a while speaking to him I'm like what's the harm get to know this guy. I'm not anxious to jump to go on a date. I want to get to know him. It's been a couple of weeks and he goes across country a lot. When we speak it's kind of short and it makes me wonder why don't you have the time to talk. He wanted to see me Halloween evening but we decided on the 8th of November. It's been 5 days and I haven't heard from him. I feel if he's really interested he'd want to speak with me. That's actually one of my requirements to have an interest in each others life. No contact for 5 6 7 days tells me he's a possible player. Not acceptable. Everyone's advice would be really appreciated because I've been out of the dating scene for a while. Thank you 🙏

I've been in such situationship for 2 months. He broke up with me once, saying he has no time for gf in january. I removed him from my life, but he came back 6 weeks later, in March. I gave him another chance. Last month I couldn't meet him, because I was sick. When I got better, I realized he is pulling away. I got mad, we had fight. Now he says he doesn't know what he wants and he asked me for space. I asked him "how long space do you need", but he said he will let me know. I just left message that I'm going on a trip, i respect his space. But if his space is gonna take months, then I can be no single anymore. I'm tired. It makes me sad, it's spring, I see happy couples everywhere, and the only thing I have is "i need space. Later".

While every situation is different, many men in situations like this aren’t necessarily focused on a particular “outcome” so they don’t see it as wasting their time - they’re just living their life. We went on one Date and he asked me that same evening if i would go on abother one.... that didn't happen, instead he keeps helping me with moving to a new apartment and renovating that. Whenever he is helping me he calls me honey and touches my hands or shoulder etc. but he has not made a move to kiss me... When i asked him how to thank him he said no need to thank him and he is very happy to help me. I'm very confused cause he is very sweet and keeps asking me if he should help me. However whe i suggest something like making dinner for him there isn't much of a reaction. Should I forget him? I don't understand why he does that. He helps gets cold, helps gets cold. Why does he put so much efford into this and then nothing happens....
