It's actually stolas's theme! It's called something like "stolas speaks". That's the reason his song in the later episode is called "stolas sings"- he is singing to the tune of his theme

Stolas Speaks is his leitmotif and has been appearing since his first scenes in S1 E1! It's worth going back and checking previous eps. It plays on piano in a lot of scenes with him, and even in banjo form when he first takes the mic at Harvest Moon. So it's actually the other way around - once you realize the tune is building up to that sad lament, it makes previous scenes that use it hit a little different, knowing that kind of emotion is always buried somewhere in Stolas even when it doesn't seem like it at first.
