This was super helpful and easy, thanks so much!!!

Thank you! Hopefully it helps people understand that the thickness of the piece (not just the length) determines the ring size.

How donu choose what dye to use as I seen someone make a size 7 ring and one used a 16 dye the other used a 20 dye

What material are they? I can’t find sterling or silver plated? Most I see is stainless steel, is that okay
@JustJani7 ай бұрын
Hi, Yes, you can use stainless, it's just harder to bend. You have to anneal it first. I get my silver plate from thrift stores, antique shops, garage sales, and facebook markeplace.

Where can I buy some cutlery to use
@JustJani Жыл бұрын
Hi! I get mine from antique stores and thrift shops. I have better luck at thrift stores. Antique stores are usually more expensive bc they know what they have.

There is a formula that you can use that will figure out the length needed for a ring size for a particular thickness. I will try to find it in my files...
@JustJani2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I’ve used a formula, but it was still not accurate. I’d love to give your formula a try!
@kimhull54962 жыл бұрын
Mine is prly the same as yours. I haven't used it cuz I haven't made those kinds of rings, just knew it existed!!

True. I tried the formula too and it didn't work either. So I just end up not doing custom😁

Did you find the formula

What is the formula

I’m pretty sure if you add the thickness to the diameter you want then multiply that number by 3.14 you will get how long to cut it.
@JustJani Жыл бұрын
I have tried that. Maybe I did it wrong. Will have to try it again.

That is correct, the issue with silverware is the thickness isn't consistent throughout, unlike wire.
