If you noticed a struggle, consider this. It was the first performance ever that Henk intentionally added distortions to his voice. In the classical world he came from it is very bad to do that to your voice. So he spent his whole career not doing exactly that. His respect for Floor was such that he wanted to change the song to respect her metal background. That is so awesome, and Floor knew exactly the courage it took to do that live in front of an international audience. I'm a huge Henk fan because of that amazing voice and the courage to try something different on a huge stage. There are a bunch of great performances on Beste Zangers. Enjoy!

Henk Poort is well known in the Netherlands. I am to understand that he was a big influence on Floor when she was 12 or 13 and Fangirled big time when she learned she was on this show with him

Try singing a song, sitting down, and without moving your shoulders when you have to belt out higher and louder notes. It shows you the professionalism of a great singer in this song.

My two favorites from this show are sung by Floor. "Shallow," a cover of the Lady Gaga song, and "Winner," which Tim Ackerman wrote as a tribute to his physically-challenged brother to express Tim's admiration for his brother's courage and determination to overcome adversity. Both very moving, and showing yet another side to Floor's talent.

Great reaction, thank you!! I think i'm amongst those who asked you to do this i'm glad you liked it this much. I had goosebumps all over again. His version really touches me more then any other. I see in the other comments it's already said how he went out of his comfort zone and all so i won't get into that more. But it's really worth it to check out more of this show, certainly season 2019 with Floor. There are many highlights Vivo per Lei also with Henk. Just everything Floor did, but also check out Tim Akkerman with Dear Mr. President. Enjoy!

For a nice contrast check uit Henk singing "Vincent" by Don McLean. It is a Dutch translation, the beauty of which might escape you, but it is, to me, better than the the original.
