I hope that this vlog is helpful :) You can watch the second part where I show you how to make a shampoo bar here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJSQdZ6Cirucm7c Remember: Everyone’s hair is different that there is no one routine fit all. Study your hair and find a routine that works for your. Also Nothing good happens overnight. It could take months until you can see some results so be consistent with your routine ❤ Hairdryer: geni.us/86hairdryer Hair Donut: geni.us/hairdonut Curl Band: geni.us/curlband ALSO: Please here me out ❤ It’s not my intention to offend anyone with my hair care routine. All I wanted to say is unstable, distorted self-image is a real thing and it has such a heavy impact on our mental health. I know it sounds cliché but we have to learn to love our body (even when we hate it). That was something I also struggled in the past after giving birth and my whole body changed in a way that I never expected. Maybe every day is a battle with our appearance or the bad day when we can’t stand what we see in the mirror. It doesn’t matter how good or bad we look because this could happen to anyone in the world. Like I said, distorted self-image is truly a thing, especially for young women. And while we’re doing our best to take care of our body, I just want you to know that it’s okay, that everyone deserves to be loved and accepted for who we are! Our hair, our body is our life long friend and we need a healthy relationship with them even when we’re not on the best term. Sometimes we have to take a brake from that “battle” and start focusing more on the self love, to pick ourselves up when we’re feeling low. Long hair, short hair, no hair, bad hair, good hair, gray hair… In the end they’re all a part of our identity, and while we learn to take care of it better, we have to accept it, embrace and love it. Don’t judge yourself and don’t judge other. #selflove #selfimage

Your hair looks so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your hair care routine. I am eager to experiment. I too think our hair is a extention of who we are. I love my long hair and while I am a older person I still think that my hair is part of my self image. Great video , Have a blessed week❤

Your hair is a reflection of health. Many years ago I lost all of my hair because of autoimmunity. And my eyelashes too. I had to get needles in my head to stimulate hair growth. I know it sounds crazy. I realized over time that the better my diet was, the better my hair was. Now I use rice water as a rinse and it is so soft and lovely. My hair is a beautiful shade of grey and blond. I love it. Thank you for this beautiful video. Today is hair washing day for me. ❤😊

@@Her86m2 thank you. I was really young at the time. In my late twenties. It wasn’t easy for sure. It was actually strange to me. It was like it was going through a journey of its own lol. I always told myself that things could be much worse. We all have things we have to overcome in order to move on with our lives. It makes us who we are as individuals. You would have the strength without a doubt because you would find it in yourself. You overcome these things because your children and families need you too, so unless you are healthy both physically and mentally, you can’t be your best self, which your children need you to be. Love you ❤️

@@anusreenivas312 the diet wasn’t exactly a cure, but it falls out less when you eat a whole food plant based diet. The less chemicals in your body, the better. That means no candy, or processed foods or fast foods or potato chips. I also take some raw rice, maybe a quarter cup or less, put it into a bowl and rinse it. Dump the first rinse. Save the next rinse in a container or jar and take into the shower or wherever you wash your hair and use it as a final rinse. Good luck.

Hair is like a diary. It grows for years and its appearance is influenced by our physical & mental state and the influences around us. Kind of like the rings of trees. This gives the fact, that many people cut their hair after a life changing event, a whole new meaning.

"your hair is not there by mistake. It has a purpose." This quote has me in tears. As someone who has type 4a hair, it's been difficult to accept and love my hair for what it is. I've never had great relationship with my hair. I always hated how long it took to wash it. How long it took to brush it, how long it took to moisturise it. And how I my styling options were so limited because I've always been tender headed... And there are weeks where I just don't bother at all with my hair following with paying the physically painful price of detangling it... At times I felt like I was at war with my hair and I hated it and wanted to shave it all off out of frustration. I never got much help on my hair care journey as the people in my life didn't have anything remotely close to my hair type. I hope I get to truly love my hair for what it is someday. And I hope other people out there with natural hair will do so too.

The whole natural hair community feels your pain 😫 As a 15+ year natural, I know exactly what you're talking about. But I've grown to love my hair and to enjoy doing it, regardless of the outcome. Learning and enjoyment is key! Where do you feel you're at with your hair now? And are you into DIY?

@@almilallhair has A LOT of meaning. Hair has built culture and tradition (as you know with the traditional hairstyles of each community) it Carries symbolism and beauty but many people find it hard to love and live with their hair so when they finally find the heart to love their natural hair for what it is, it’s very emotional for them. To some, finding satisfaction with your hair is a journey and a very frustrating and painful one at that. You clearly have never had any issues with your hair and if you have, I find it very pitiful how u discredit others instead of uplifting them because you’ve been through the same struggles and know the way they feel is unbearable. Please think before you speak. Also, May i know what hair type you have?

@@CeeCeeOnIt87at this very point, I kinda gave up. I usually did DIY but it became tiring. I have plenty of recipes written down but I'm just pretty burnt out at this point. I don't like how my hair looks half the time bc of the length of it. I only find it pretty if I wear extensions. And when I rarely get my afro just right lol. The rest of the time I didn't really like the appearance of it.

@@sophialambert6320 It's definitely a labor of love. I was there for a while (mostly with texture, not so much with length but frustration is frustration) but honestly experimentation and starting over from what I thought I knew helped immensely. But it’s true the way you treat your hair and love your hair will determine how long it will grow. You get a 1,000 percent on hair care and your daughter is going to have the same watching her beautiful momma caring for both of you hair. I love how you curl it! And great tips with oil to deal in moisture I do the same lol this was amazing truly made my day thank you. Also diet and nutrition play a huge role! I never realized I was anemic so my iron levels were low and my hair was thinning. Same here! Diagnosed 5 years ago and at the time I had lost 60% of my hair but I grew it all back. Now my PCOS is acting up again from stress with pharmacy exams and I’ve lost a lot of hair. I recently started oiling my ends with jojoba, doing two hot oil treatments per week with fenugreek in almond oil, eating more pumpkin seeds and Brazil nuts, and using a clarifying shampoo. Also spironolactone for the excess andro+DHT. Over the past two weeks I noticed my hair fall slow down and stopped using heat. Wishing everyone luck with their PCOS/hair journey. It’s tough but you gotta give yourself a hug and remember you’re doing the best you can with the resources available and any improvement made is a big achievement no matter what.

Currently rewatching this video as inspo to grow out my natural hair. Just this month I decided to dye my hair back to black and grow it out. Oddly enough I always disliked my straight black hair. I guess I always found it “boring” (we always want what we don’t have I guess 💀). I’ve dyed it all kinds of different colors and permed it to be curly. But I’m excited to enjoy my natural hair seeing how beautifully you’ve grown yours out ❤️

The oil our hair secrets is actually so good for your head and hair it's why it's there. The reason our modern day women get an overproduction is because of all the awful shampoos. Shampoo strips your hair of oil which Is why it feels so clean but for the longevity of health for your scalp and hair it's not good. Once you stop washing often and using the harsh shampoos your hair is like yes ! I'm Not starving anymore and it will produce more oil than it needs. What you need is a bore bristle brush to redistribute the oil throughout your hair and your ends , it's like natural dry shampoo and your hair will begin to become more healthy too. It will take time for things to balance out but it does work and you shouldn't wash your hair more than twice a week. Also you want to protect it at night using silk head wraps and pillow cases and use a nice oil after wash days depending on your hair type and condition will determine which oil. You also will want to think about a protective hair style to use most days. Having ends tucked and up away from your neck because when hair is left to hang down loose all the time it will begin to break and get damaged. Over time all these practices will help you hair health and it will be longer too ☺️❤️

I've been trying the onion water method and the effect is AMAZING. After only a couple of days or a week or two(I wasn't really counting but it felt pretty fast), I noticed the appearance of lots of new baby hair on my forehead near the hair line. And then later I started seeing many new hair pointing out on the top part of my head. They grow pretty fast too. The smell of onion water is quite strong hence I can only do this treatment once a week when I am staying in, but even then the effect is so clearly visible. Due to severe stress I lost many hair during the past couple of years, and everyday seeing all the hair I lost makes me even more stressed and down. While I still need to work on my mental health, this method has really help me feel better. Thank you!

I relate so much to what you said in the beginning - growing up my hair was always long and healthy, and no matter how much I cut or what heat tools I used it always grew long and thick quickly. In my late twenties I was diagnosed with hormonal issues, plus I experienced multiple tragedies in my family. The hormone issues and stress caused my hair to fall out, and once I cut it it stayed limp and thin and the same length for several years. Its only now starting to recover, and I'm still learning now the ways I should have taken care of it when I was younger. Now though I try to treat it and handle it gently, as an extension of myself that will also not be here forever. Thank you for this beautiful video, its inspiring and so thoughtful and made me rethink my relationship with my hair🙏❤

I was about to say the same thing. Always had thick, full and extremely long hair. It was my joy and pride. With bad hormonal issues they started falling off and breaking like crazy and within the period of a few months I lost half of my hair due to a bad health outbreak. Always had hormonal issues but that was the worst blow. That happened a few years back. Their length, thickness and quality has been terrible since then and since my hormonal issues started their type changed to thin and extremely dry. I don't dye, don't blow dry, don't style my hair, never did. But still. Now I am focusing in protecting the ends from breaking so they grow and trying to strengthen the roots as well, little by little switching to all organic products only.

I have a lot of anxiety, I've been going through a rough patch for a while now but I feel so serene and inspired every time I watch one of your videos! Hair being an extension of our thoughts makes a lot of sense. I have very dense, thick and curly hair. Taking care of my hair has always been a big struggle, I've been having A LOT of breakage lately and my hair always looks dry, it's unmanageable, impossible to style when natural. I'm on a healing journey now to slow my life and ease my anxiety level (or at least find better ways to cope with it) and not once did I think of taking care of my hair as a step towards that. I can see the importance of it now, plus it'll help me feel better about my self overall 🥰🥰 PS: your hair looks ABSOLUTELY gorgeous and I'm in love with your outfits !

I took it for granted and was never making any fuss about it, didn't use expensive products, never styled it and didn't wash it often. But as a typical teenager I soon got hooked onto marketing and started using more and more commercial products, make up and also haircare, started using heat tools and when stress and hormonal dysbalance (oral contraceptives) were added to that, with a few years delay, my hair was reduced to maybe a third of its original volume and what was left looked limp, shineless, had split ends, breakage and frizz. This triggered me to buy more and more commercial products (expensive ones from salons as well), and it only got worse and worse. Finally, in my end twenties, I had a terrible hairdresser appointment, where a brute, short-haired woman cut off about 15 cm more than we had agreed and when I realized it was too late. After that appointment, I went home, looked at my shoulder-length thin hair in the mirror and couldn't stop crying, I felt robbed of a part of myself and I decided that enough was enough. I started looking into ingredients of commercial cosmetic products, researched healthy alternatives, learned to make my own ayurvedic herbal hair wash powder, invested in good brushes with natural bristles and also did masks with ayurvedic hair oils. Almost immediately tiny new growth appeared everywhere under my old hair and now (almost 10 years after the transition) I have my rapunzel hair back. It is noteworthy that no doctor or hairdresser ever gave any advice targeting the cause and it annoys me to this day that 95% of hairdressers know so little about their own field and will advertise hair- and health-damaging practises and products or expensive things that can only cover up the damage (like extensions). I now also invested in a better pair of hair cutting scissors (it is very important that you do not use dull, cheap scissors, because they will leave your ends uneven and prone to damage). My mum did the same transition, after a lot of damage from permanent wave treatment she found a hairdresser who cuts the hair with a special technique that yields beautiful curls without the need for chemical treatment (curlsys or brian mc lean method, not for everyone though and there very few hairdressers who are actually able to do it properly so that the hair wants to fall in curls and you still have to put in some effort with blow-drying of course) and she also dies her hair herself with plant-based hair colours, which in addition to covering her greys, are like a mask for the hair and make it super strong and shiny. The structure is so good that she doesn't need any styling products. People sometimes approach her in public and ask if the hair is real. And I think the mental side is very important. Close your eyes and imagine the look of your hair that you wish, feel how it feels on your back or in your hands and pretend as if this change already happened, feel as if you already had the hair you wish for and give thanks for it. Do such a little meditation daily. Your body will work to match your inner perception, I promise it will yield different results than if you stand in front of the mirror and have negative self-talk, like this looks crap, this has fallen out etc. (I was guilty of this myself).

My hair had alot of damage from dyeing it and having the wrong hair routine (i used alot of heat on my hair). What really helped me for was switching to a shampoo bar, using oils on my ends, and leave in conditioners. My hair has improved alot over time and people say how nice and health my hair looks now. I will try the flax seed gel to see how that might improve the growth more, i would love a bit more length.

Ladies, do keep in mind that dark brown -black hair is typically shinier and glossier than lighter or medium browns, don’t be too disheartened if you never get yours to look quite like hers, it might just be your hair type

I’m really glad I’m finally watching this video. I cut my hair 6months ago or more and it’s been the same length more or less. I did no hair care whatsoever as I don’t know much about it. Some of these things are so easy! Like the flax seed mask! I’m excited to start my hair journey from scratch and hopefully grow confidence in my hair and myself! 😊
