Gabrielle was a well written character. She changed every season and became a warrior in the end. I loved her storyline.

True, but at times I felt like she was in the way that she would cause Xena to be in tough situations, despite the fact she did help Xena understand goodness better.

Up until season 4, yeah. They completely trashed her character in season 5 because Lucy got pregnant and couldn't do action scenes. They had Gabrielle do them instead and her pasifist ways were out the door as she became a super fighter overnight.

@@xenondoro8573 agree. She changed fighting style and suddenly was an expert in it and basically was a Xena 2.0. Before that, she had a loveable innocence and relatable character.

I wish NBC Universal would offer full free episodes of Xena on KZbin or Amazon Prime or somewhere. There are soooo many people right now that could be watching Xena while at home and being introduced/re-introduced to the Warrior Princess.

Brandon C... a lot of people had good reason to take vengeance against Xena but as history and time has proven there is no satisfaction from vengeance. Look at Callisto... Xena's most formidable adversary. She had more reason than any to take vengeance because Xena's army sacked her village and murdered her family when she was just a girl. However, over the course of the show after so many battles with Xena and after so long of trying to make her feel the same misery and pain Callisto was still empty inside. The path of vengeance can only lead to emptiness.

The bad guy always gets overconfident when they have Xena captured. Just when they THINK she's defeated, they allow her a chance to catch her breath. BIG mistake.

Satrina could have been an interesting villain, but she just felt bland. I don't know if it was the actress or the episode. Plus, I've always found villains who don't fight boring. Satrina was all smarts, no muscle.

Right and she always had someone to be the muscle....Xena killed her partner and Satrina posed as a slave to learn from the best.....if anything it would have been better if she had been over a course of some episodes. Or came back. Like Callisto to show how truly formidable she is...this episode does make her look weak because she is only in one but in reality she is probably on of Xena's most dangerous nemesis...because she can think like Xena.

The more I’ve rewatched some scenes the more I’ve noticed how hollywoidized it is. By this I mean a lot of makeup, no women back then had that clear of skin. There was a lot of farms therefor it was smelly and dirty. Just wanted to point this out. Still love the show and have a lot of the dvds🙂

I know what you mean, but most Hollywood female action heroes exhibit this. It's funny how women warriors on TV and movies are supposed to be "tough and strong" but also wear the most fashionable clothes and have perfect lipstick. Yet they can beat men twice their size with big muscle no problem. The Charmed Ones always looked the most fake to me. At least Xena wore durable leather, not high heels.
