Here's How an F-22 Raptor Flew under the Iranian Fighter Jet and Told Him to go Home

In 2013, two Iranian Air Force F-4 Phantoms moved to intercept an MQ-1 drone flying in international airspace near the Iranian border. The two IRIAF fighters were quickly shooed away by two F-22 Raptors who were flying in escort.

Whats scary is the term "beyond visual range" basically most Fighter Aircraft have to rely on Radar and then ready thier missiles. The problem however is the F-22 Raptor is a *Stealth* Air Superiority Fighter what that means its radar is very low to detect and unlike F-117 Nighthawk which its not a fighter its bomber but not very stable maneuverability which unfortunately the F-22 has the latest avionics as well as thrust vectoring to make it a formidable dogfighter as much as the F-15 but better with very few other planes can match with the latest Sukhoi series fighters can match it if got the cash for one, currently its not known the Su-57 is available for export which your left with Su-30M, Su-30SM, or Su-35.

This happened some time ago... point of note, there were no F-4S Phantom IIs ever sold to the IRAF, (Which became the IRIAF in 1979 after the revolution). The Iranian IRAF were sold F-4D model and F-4Es which were USAF aircraft. The F-4S was strictly a late model re-build of some F-4J Phantom IIs and used solely as a US Navy fighter up to the late 80's including reserve squadrons.

As the pilot of one of the F4s, I admit I got surprised and scared, but I left for home only when I noticed the F22 rascal pilot before pulling up to my 9 had stuck his gum to my exhaust pipes when he was under my plane, you see it was either get stuck on the side of the road with choked up engines, or go home, as you can see, this whole story is a true story...Honest.

Don't sell the F-4 short, it was a formidable beast for over three decades. F-22 published speed is mach 2.2 to 2.3. F-4 published speed is over 2.2. but I have seen mach 3 in a F-4C while performing a test flight in Vietnam. Usually in combat it is the pilots which make the difference. Not denigrating the F-22, it's maneuverability is totally awesome. Bill Norton

flying a drone is cheaper but easier to shut down in international waters. F-22 sent so it would recon/escort if the drone would be shut down again. when it was going to be shut down, F-22 convenes. next drone flight, is going to be a good guess for Iran if it's worth shutting it down or leave it alone...

It is "top secret"... however it is a poorly kept secret, that over Syria, the USAF shadowed pretty much every Russian sortie with an F-22 while they were there... without the Russian fighters even knowing of its existence... that is not impressive... what it impressive, is that the second any Russian jet started taxiing for a sortie, it was known by US forces. There was not a second where the position of each Russian aircraft was not known from take off to landing... the same cannot be said of Russian SA of US and NATO aircraft.

The F-4 is outdated. But it is still a very high performance jet . In skilled hands it can pose a real threat to anything that flies. That being said, I would much, much rather be flying an F-22 ! ! !

Those Kailo pain patches work. I have chronic back pain and it reduces the pain by 80% or more. The problem with the patch is the adhesive that sticks the patch to the body. My patch feel off three times and if o didn't have my shirt tucked in I would have lost them. I use a back support S-1 lumbar belt that I put the patch in between and it works fine. They need to make a belt with a pocket to slip the patch into, and it works fine.

Part of me kind of wonders what the point of sending the MQ-1 is if it has to be escorted by two F-22s. I suppose it's a good opportunity to see what kinds of loadouts they're sending their Phantoms with, though -- the MQ-1 is a relatively inexpensive bit of bait, in that case, to flush out some Iranian jets for inspection. This game gets played all the time with Chinese and Russian pilots, but I suppose the Iranians are relatively new to it.
