I bought an XLT 4x4 a month ago= the more I drive it, the more I love it. I am old and just retired, this checked all my boxes and I love the way it rides down the road- planning to take a road trip from Idaho to Florida. Added bonus, if you are American- this is built in Michigan... putting fellow citizens to work! My last vehicle was a 2013 hyundai accent, so driving this compared to that...hahahahah, and the last truck I had was a Mazda back in the 80's.... again no comparison. It was a little spendy, no regrets, but I bet this will be my last vehicle purchase.... in this lifetime.

I bought a 2020 Ranger XLT (my third Ranger,) which I also expect to be my last vehicle. As you say, it was pricey compared to my first two Rangers, but then it is larger and has more high tech doodads. I had the fabric upholstery replaced with leather for an extra $900, which was worth it for me because I hate fabric seats. The more I drive it, the more I find to like about it.

Picked up my '19 Lariat FX4 about a month ago. I totally agree with many of the cons about this vehicle, but i can easily overlook it for the best drivetrain in the class. This engine and transmission never feel like its lacking power, and really figures out which gear is needed very quickly. I'm personally not concerned about the reliability on these ecoboost motors, i had a 13 Focus ST that i put over 100k on and never had a single engine issue and i ran that thing hard. Looking forward to many years enjoying the turbo engine in this truck.

Hey I went and drove a ranger lariat today. I am still debating it. I had a tacoma, but I am 6'3 and I could never get comfortable. How do you like yours? It felt super comfortable and I really liked it . The seats felt great which is huge for me. How is the BO sound? The power felt great from the engine.
@exia9894 жыл бұрын
@@drn13355 I'm 6'-1", 250 lbs (athletic build), and i love my ranger. It took me a bit to get comfy in the seats, but once i did i found i was actually able to sit behind myself which is a huge plus for me (supercrew). BO sound is solid enough that i don't think i'd ever spend the time and money to upgrade it. The power from the engine never gets old, it still surprises me with how quick it is. I've taken mine on some longer trips, and its perfect. Minimal interior noise, the adaptive cruise is amazing, and the fuel economy has been solid, averaging damn near 24 mpg on the highway (calculated by hand). As a larger guy, I think you'd be extremely happy with the Ranger. I know I am.

@@exia989 Hey thanks man. Yeah I weigh like 205 so I am lean, but my problem with my taco was the damn seats. I literally honestly got claustrophobic in it. So just driving the ranger today I felt great in it. Power was awesome really it seemed like good vehicle for me. Thanks for the update.

I’d never buy another small pickup after owning for 3 years a 2017 F150 STX with the stout Lil 2.7 Ecoboost engine, but if the Ranger served my needs that’s what I’d get. I’ll admit parking the F150 can be challenging at times, but comfort economy and power the lil engines are hard to beat. I like this lil Ford from every angle, but the rear, looks like they had 3 designers and Fred who wasn’t very good got to design the rear. All Fred had was a ruler and no imagination, but Fred’s last name started with a F and they had to use his design.

I purchased the 2020 Ranger xl 2wd. Most of the Rangers I see are 4wd with the Fx4 package. Pros: power, fuel economy, and room. I average around 25 mpg, but have seen as high as 30 mpg on the highway. Cons: choppy suspension and a transmission that can be clunky at times. I think 🤔 some of that is due to the stock Bridgestone Duellers. Small glitches like a backup camera that went offline and came back, 9/9 gears appeared on the screen instead of 9/10 which reset itself, and recently the collision 💥 alert ⚠️ popped on despite being at a reasonable distance. Beyond those one time glitches, it has been reliable.

@fatkatrabbit Turbo engines are very particular with oil. Wanna know what oil going through a turbo looks like? Try coffee with a lot of creamer in it. A turbo spins at 10k plus rpm and more under load and the oil is how it stays cool along with a water jacket. Follow the recommendations of the manual and definitely use high quality synthetic oil it takes the heating better and holds up under the abuse a turbo gives. For example the turbo spins at up to 40 to 50k RPM and gets hotter then the devils breath. That’s not a good place for cheap oil

Great truck, great power. I love the styling. I loved this truck to the moon until it started to have issues… first for the ac was making weird clunking sounds from behind the dash when turning the HVAC on/off. Sounded like a blend door catching… That fixed on its own. 17k miles on it and the drivers side floor board is soaked with 1” of water after a few days of heavy rain. The car smells like a 20year old vehicle. I get all cars have issues, but a water leak is a very big concern for any new car and it makes me question build quality of fords now. I’ve owned a Ford F-150 since 1998 and it also had water leaks. How many? Idk. But it was like a water ride at a theme park when going sharp around a turn 😂😂 Ranger: all that above and the well known drive shaft thumping noise from the slip yoke… my sister drove it and was like “what was that noise?”. happens when taking off from start usually. DEALER DIDNT CARE. I’m unsure of whether I should trade it in. I understand Just like any car on the road, they are hit or miss when it comes to problems. Sorry to be a bummer everyone. Just sharing my own experience with a new 2020 XLT sport 4x4.
@partnerplayer2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have a lemon. You possibly have the blend door issue. "Some 2019-2020 Ranger vehicles built on or before 30-Jul-2020 may experience poor and/or no temperature change when the temperature is adjusted in the climate control system. There may also be a clicking/snapping noise from behind the instrument panel. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1082 and/or B1081 may also be retrieved from the front controls interface module (FCIM). This may be due to an issue with the blend door and its controls. To avoid repeat repairs, it is recommended to replace the climate control housing assembly (service base part# 18478). Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 412-00." Check out your issues on the forum, ranger5g. You can get lots of help there.
