Yeah I did go full send on that watch I wore a full week continuously while working on cars and I did not take it off

I couldn’t tell it was worn in a rough environment like that at all. Tough as nails

@OldLineWatches yes I was very impressed especially when I compared to all my other watches that I wear

To me if a watch is going to be vintage inspired it can’t be 43mm, that’s way too big

That's the downside of modern movements - particularly in the budget realm. The ST19XX are the only way to offer a mechanical chronograph for less than $500 and are 13.75mm tall and 31.3mm diameter. To put that in a a 38mm case, you're not getting a tachymetre bezel unless you make the subdials and the dial itself ridiculously small and it'll have absurd proportions. Think about the 38mm seagull 1963: it barely looks proportionate and has no bezel at all. I think they did a great job within the constraints of that to hit their target look and feel.

@@turnbasedtoddy7664 agreed - no one wore a boat anchor back then. After three case revisions, we got the case as thin as the movement would allow. The 43mm is closer to the Speedy’s 42mm than a true 43mm, but the movement diameter with the bezel didn’t leave much room. Love the feedback, thank you!

Those Seagull movements are so beautiful! Great review!

thanks! I'm sad about the impending scarcity of the St19XX movements due to the minimum order of 10k pieces from Seagull. There's no entry-budget mechanical chronographs without it unless another overseas manufacturer decides to step into the void created.
