Joe sang his heart out. His last concert was in Germany. He was in total pain singing. He developed lung cancer from all the years of smoking , drugs and drinking. He helped anyone who needed it. He died poor and did what he loved. Theres a great documentary on Netflix about him. Rip Joe

He did not die poor. In fact, he did quite well for himself. He lived not far from us here in Colorado and here is his house that he had built. He lived here until his passing. It's for sale again. As you can see, he was not poor, not even close to poor. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2mshJWhp86pZqcsi=irqfKTUSLA41-BRj

This is probably the best live version you'll ever hear. Joe was really on form and add to that the acoustics of the hall. You can hear his voice reverberate around clearly. Perfect venue and the best person to sing that song. Joe owns it.

I'm almost 60. It's so awesome to have a connection, and a solid one, to the younger generations - though "our" music. You guys aren't reacting in a phony way to get clicks, but to how this music really makes you feel. It's a big deal to me, and many others my age. You guys are my favorite reaction channel, and I've been watching a lot. Thank you...

Song was written by Billy Preston and Bruce Fisher, released by Preston in 1974, and same year Joe Cocker released it. Little Rascals (movie) was released in 1994. A lot of others covered Preston/Fisher's song. Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys likely also contributed to the songs genesis and writing.

When I was a young girl and heard Joe Cocker singing on the car radio, I didn’t think he had a “good voice” because he sounded gravelly and was straining to reach the high notes. But now, as an adult who “went through some things” and watch his performances, I am on Team Amber: I think the best singers are the ones who leave their raw emotions on the stage so the rest of us can feel our own. Thank you for this powerful reaction, J & A. 💐

I absolutely agree! I know that part of it is a copyright issue, but sometimes I feel like he just does it at the wrong time and I feel so bad for Amber. She's like me, when I'm into my music, I'm *into it* , and even if there's a quick glitch that disturbs the flow, it takes me out of my zone and I feel so weird and off balance. It's hard to explain, but some may understand.

I think the finest compliment that can be paid to a singer is to say they "left it all on the stage". Joe Cocker certainly held nothing back when he took hold of a song. All of the greats...Janis, Freddie, Bob Seeger, Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, Mick Jagger, and all the unknowns who had the voice but not the breaks...they poured it all onto the stage night after night. They didn't keep anything back. Maybe that's why so many of them die alone.

Thank you for featuring this song/video. It’s a beautiful, heartfelt performance but my favorite thing about it is watching Amber’s reaction. This incredible song is meant to bring out an emotional response, touch your soul, speak to your heart. I am thrilled to see that it is not wasted on you, Amber. From the second he starts to sing and you smile with familiarity, then when the intensity of the emotion hits you and your hands come up to cover your mouth, your eyes glisten and your expression changes/deepens. It’s beautiful. My eyes fill with tears right along with you as you feel the real power of this song. Don’t edit out your emotional reactions. It’s what’s real and what makes watching reaction videos worth it.

Yes! I agree about the statement "they've been through pain." It really comes through in their voices. Amy Winehouse was one of my fav singers and her downfall was heartbreaking to watch, may she RIP.

I have a special request from a unique artist with a special gift of being able to consistently sing from his soul. The artist name is Seal. I think a good place to start is “Killer” then “ Crazy” and for a change of pace “ Kiss from a Rose” .. he has levels and layers to his music. You won’t be disappointed.🙏🏽
@Johnrob1943
@Johnrob1943 3 жыл бұрын
I never heard him sing crazy, but Seal is so utterly underrated. A kiss from a rose is so unforgettable. Not many people remember him which is unfortunate. He's iconic with his singing.

Amber, don't you EVER hold back a good cry! It was unique to listen to Joe Cocker singing You are so Beautiful and not be sittin' here crying alone. God gave you ears to listen with and a soul to feel with. You can't experience music without using both. Anyway, I clicked because I so enjoy how you feel songs from my generation. Brings me back. For something more upbeat, check out Joe Cocker's rendition of "Cry me a River"!!!
