Now you REALLY MUST do Beth and Joe ”I’ll Take Care of You”, another live performance. Joe is a child prodigy for blues guitar… if I remember correctly he performed with B.B. King when he was 12 yrs old. He is a completely independent artist with a huge fan base. Beth has been in the industry for a long time… she was on Star Search in 1980’s(maybe early ‘90’s??), and I believe she won. She’s had a tough road with mental illness and addiction…she’s been doing well for quite a while now. The 2 of them together are pure magic!!

I'm in my 70s. So trust me, in all those years, (being not just a guitar player but an avid fan of ALL music) I've heard the best of the best in every genre you can name and THIS, for me, is hands down, THE greatest guitar solo of all time. It's as if Joe somehow channeled the essence of Beth and inserted into his guitar, making it weep and wail with all the heartbreak and emotional angst that Beth was feeling and leaving on the stage. This is real. It's almost beyond real. Un-freaking-believable.

She proved to be a supremely talented all round musician. As well as her solo albums, I also have the four that she has made with Joe so far. “Don’t Explain” “See Saw” “Black Coffee”, and “Live in Amsterdam” all of them exceptional.

Beth is Ann incredible singer and put her together with Joe you have pure power. The closest you could come to this pairing would be Susan Tedesci and Derek Trucks' version of MIDNIGHT IN HARLEM. She doesn't quite have the power of Beth but is still quite good. Both Trucks and Bonamassa were prodigies and both have been onstage performing since they were quite young. Great choice and thanks.

If you haven't checked her out yet, try some Bonnie Raitt. She is a fantastic blues guitarist. She has a raspy, smoky voice that will give you the shivers. One of her best known songs is I Can't Make You Love Me ...so soulful and sad. Something to Talk About, Give It Up Or Let Me Go, The Ones We Couldn't Be, River of Tears, Rock Steady, and Runaway are some other good ones. Deep rabbit hole... This is the magic of the blues. There is nothing else in the world like it. When I come across kids who have only ever listened to rap and hip hop, I can't help but think these younger generations have been robbed of the best music humanity has ever come up with. There is _nothing_ else in the world like great blues singing and blues guitar. Joe Bonamassa sits pretty much at the top of the blues guitarist world today. I first came across him about 10 or 12 years back when I heard his "Live From Royal Albert Hall 2009" Blu-ray and it remains one of my most treasured musical trophies to this day. Beth Hart can sing the blues as well as anybody, and when she is hot--she is HOT! This is an old Etta James song from 1967 that she recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with the Swampers. What a studio and what a band of studio musicians! Now I am going to do you two a favour and I do hope you will take advantage of it and listen to this song from probably the greatest female singer on the planet today. Her name is Sohyang and the song is "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Since Joe and Beth moved your hearts with this song, this one is going to reduce you to tears just like it does to everyone else on this earth. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWfMeZtqrqeredE

Your reactions at 9:29-9:39 are truly “more precious than gold” to an old blues/pop/rock/soul music lover raised through the mid-60’s (& 70’s) & now living life at that former age. Jay & Amber, that both of your hearts & minds are so open to the absolutely phenomenal suggestions of your listening audience (subscribed or not) is more than a blessing, but a pure joy as well… Music, of almost all types (forgive my bias against the vast majority of contemporary/modern artists/genres), is unifying - across borders, ethnicities, cultures, even biases, and most importantly (imho) generations. Your channel undeniably proves that, I’m thankful for Y’all, & blessed with each episode that you take another “deep dive” back into the vault of time to retrieve & revisit another cherished musical memory. As another New Year (2022) dawns this morning, I’m trying to be optimistic - somewhat against my better “judgment” (contemplation) of worldwide current events - but Y’all’s shared heartfelt love: and respect & honor of one another combined with your beautiful children; and appreciation of great music; and finally, your great “sign-off” at the conclusion of each episode; gives me pause, and hope for our collective/shared future(s). Thank you both for who you are, what you do (here & in your professions), and for your openness. It’s helping more than either of you’ll ever know! Now, if we ALL will just TRY to follow your advice and “make somebody smile” at least once (or more!!!) each & every day, the possibilities for a bright future are endless.. maybe even eternal…. Happy New Year 🎆🎈 ‼️

This is going to be a very long comment. You've been warned. But there is so much to say about Beth and Joe both separately and together. Separately. Each one of them is I feel the best in the world at this moment in their respective fields. I really believe that this is the most talented female singer working today. I believe that Joe Bonamassa is the greatest Blues guitarists working today. But when the two of them get together there is Magic. This is the literal definition of synergy, where the sum of the parts is so much greater. There is more collaboration between the two of them. And I guarantee you will have equally stunned reactions. (By the way out of all the reactions you have ever done I have enjoyed this one the most. I think you have not looked at each other with dropped Jaws as much on any other video as this one) now let's talk about each of them separately. First Beth. True soul comes from pain. Beth has known some real pain in her life. Both alcohol and drug addiction, being very successful at a young age and seeing it all slip away, and she is been very public with her struggles with bipolar disorder. Her story is one of the most inspirational I have ever heard. Here's another must-do reaction. Beth singing I am the one live at the Paradisio. Now let's talk about Joe. He was inspired by people like Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was a child prodigy. He was so talented that BB King used to have him open for him when he was only a kid. No less than John Lee Hooker praised him as an amazing talent. Amber, if you would like to hear an entire song that will make you feel like that solo, you must check out a live version of his song mountain time. Don't wait so long to take my very strong suggestion next time!😉 Beth and Joe together: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIiWgKWCfc9jorM Joe alone (specifically for Amber) kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2SonGSontinZ9U Beth alone (J this is right up your alley, but Amber will love it too!) kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4PSYmxnl8yjbc0
