Wish me luck 😂😂😂 Step 1: North West- Aberdeen Sunday Night: - Start shift: 22:45 - 15 min vehicle check - 23:00- 03:30 Driving (Now Monday) 45 min break - 04:15- 07:00 7AM Arrive at Aberdeen 07:00- 08:00- On site at Aberdeen Step 2A: Aberdeen- Aberdeen - 11 hours 30 mins rest (08:00- 19:30) Step 2B: Aberdeen- Abderdeen Start New Shift 19:30 Monday 15 min vehicle check 15 min drive to collection site in Aberdeen Collection: 8pm Step 3: Aberdeen- Norwich 20:00- 21:00 Collection Leave Aberdeen- 21:00 Drive until 01:30 45 min break 02:15- 06:45- Driving 45 min break 07:30- 08:15- Driving. Max driving hours reached (10 hour day) 9 hours rest- 08:15- 17:15 Start new shift Tuesday: 15 min vehicle check- 17:15- 17:30 1 hour 30 mins remaining to Norwich- 17:30- 19:00 1 hour to tip in Norwich- 19:00- 20:00 **Latest time I can start in the N.West to get to Aberdeen?** 22:45 Sunday night **Earliest Arrival in Norwich?** 7pm Tuesday **How much driving time do you have left?*** 8 hours 30 mins Obviously that's an "Eddie Stobart Route Planner" style of working it out, where they expect you to work 14 hours 59 min each shift 😅 In the real world, it wouldn't work like that, with traffic, parking up, etc. But I got you to Norwich quite quickly 😁🤣 It will be interesting to see how other people worked it out. Great video idea. Looking foward to the comments

What he said? 7hrs to Aberdeen yeah? So start at 00:00 or even 23:45 do the 15 mins set off at 00:00 get there for 7am tip by 8am then have 11hrs off and start at 19:30 do 15 minutes so 19:45 then 15 minutes to the collection site. Collection at 20:00 done by 21:00 bare in mind you've already driven 15 minutes so you have only 9hrs and 45 mins left of daily drive time. So set off at 21:00 drive for 4hrs and 15 minutes so that is 01:15 then stop for a 45 min that's 02:00 set off again and drive for another 4hrs and 30 minutes that's 06:45am stop for 11 hours so 06:45 - till 17:45 start shift at 17:45 then do 15 mins on cross hammers and then you'll have 2hrs and 15 minutes to the adress in Norwich so earliest you can be there is 20:15

Would like abit of advice im playing with the idea of maybe getting my own wagon is it worth doing with everything you need to do to get started? Thanks
@TheRockgod23 Жыл бұрын
It's worth doing if you can get work, the problem is getting the work ! I wouldn't bother at the moment , you'd be better waiting for the economy to pick up especially if you're currently working at getting a regular income.

What i am curious about how do you go about finding work
@TheRockgod2310 ай бұрын
Before I even bought the truck I contacted people I used to work for, asking them if they'd consider using me if needed. Most said yes even though they couldn't give any guarantees. I was quite lucky as I'd been a freelance driver for 7/8 years so had worked for a few different companies, so could approach a number of people. I also researched using the online platforms like Amazon and the Haulage Exchange. Once I thought I could give it a go I started the process of setting everything up. Now I have half a dozen direct customers who give me work on a adhoc basis and also use the online platforms when needed. Hope that helps, cheers.

How did you go about , getting your truck and company adr compliant ?
@TheRockgod2311 ай бұрын
All I did was to get my ADR Certification (driver), the vehicle then needs to have various things like fire extinguishers, wheel chocks and various PPE like eye wash, first aid kit, spill kit, protective suit etc. Some of the equipment has expiry dates (eg eye wash) so has to be replaced before expiry even if it never gets opened or used. Then I changed my Insurance to allow the carriage of Hazardous Goods, this can vary depending on what Class of Dangerous Goods you want to carry. Hope that helps, cheers.
@mitch31B11 ай бұрын
@@TheRockgod23 thank you for replying yeah that helps a lot did you tell your insurance every un number youve got on your card ,just encase you carried various types of HAZ throughout the week
@TheRockgod2311 ай бұрын
@@mitch31B No, there are thousands of UN Numbers so that wouldn't be practical. You just have to tell them which Class of Hazardous Goods you carry. Most people opt for Class 2,3,4,5,6,8 and 9. If you only carry a certain single product everyday (and nothing else) you just need Insurance Cover for that specific Class. I opted for the multiple Class option (as above) minus Class1 and Class 7 as I know I will never carry those products. Cheers.
