Oh my goodness I love this video cant stop crying darn it! I have a possible solution for ya'lls Hot Tents! If you can get some stainless steel baskets that fit in your little tent stoves. They only need to be a inch or two in depth, you can run wood pellets instead of firewood! We did this for years in our old home! Its easier, cheaper, lasts longer than wood burns hotter than wood and No more splitting wood! Walmart sells a 40lb bag for $5 which will last for days! Just squirt some lighter fluid on them and poof fire! You can order a pallet of 50 bags 1 ton for $250! Im a Surgical Nurse and used whats called an autoclave basket made out of stainless steel mesh with 2 handles! Please pass this on to all God Bless you and I pray this helps someone!

Her story is so familiar. I fought, marched for our government to work to assist HIV/AIDS patients. I have seen some of the worst cruelty in 1989-1996 from Drs & nurses in MI. God has wrapped his arms around all of them now. Bless your heart, my best friend has lived with HIV for over 50 years. I pray all of you have a full life.

Many homeless people all over the country live in tents. These are not people who became homeless because of Helene. They are homeless for other reasons.

@@AmericaShallBeSaved777 Correct. Homeless people have been living in tents for years in the mountains. Many of our counties do not have.homeless shelters. Most counties do have homeless programs that will put people up in hotels and help them find shelter, especially on code purple days (extremely cold days/nights). Buncombe, Haywood & other counties with larger populations do have several homeless shelters. Some advocates attempting to have shelters built in other counties have put up flyers all over NC telling the homeless population in other areas to come to the mountains. It’s part of an attempt to pressure local governments into building shelters in every county. Our homeless populations have been steadily increasing over the years due to this. In every single county you will find a segment of the homeless population that has been kicked out of every program because they have repeatedly failed to meet requirements. They have failed to find and hold onto jobs, to stay sober, to take needed meds, etc.. Generally, they struggle with substance abuse and mental health issues. This is the group you are most likely to find sleeping outside in the dead of winter. I’m glad more people have taken notice, and that some republicans now seem to care (when they have not for several years). The dishonest framing is still dishonest, no matter how you spin it. When you see someone that says they were living under a bridge, or … they were most likely not impacted by Helene. Every single group helping people impacted by Helene find temporary shelter - housing, including FEMA, prioritizes the elderly, families with children, the disabled, terminally ill…. FEMA is not legally allowed to use disaster relief funding for people that did not have a residence in Western NC that was damaged by the storm. They cannot take away from Helene victims to give resources to people who were homeless before the storm. That would be fraud.

It is most likely because you are dealing with the segment of the homeless population that has been kicked out of every program, generally after multiple attempts to help. They still don’t need to freeze to death. Every person like this in my county has had a hot tent for some time complete with a camping stove. People aren’t gonna let them freeze or starve, if they can help it. They also should not be used as c political pawns and touted as evidence of a failed Biden administration. This has been happening for much longer.
