I appreciate so much of your common sense way of teaching. I love to listen to your voice because you sound like my Great Aunt Ailie.Of course you being much much younger!! My great grandfather moved to the US from Finland in the early 1900's. My mothers first language was Finnish despite being born here. I grew up very near the township of Oulu with Brule, Wisconsin being the biggest Town. Very small towns up there in Northern Wisconsin. Growing up, my Finn relatives were and are the most fun to be around. Not so much my Swedish relatives :-) My Dad being 100% Swede.They really celebrate being of Finnish descent in Oulu. Lots of Sisu! Thank you!!

Hello Miss Tuula. This is Idaho, USA. I sure enjoy seeing your beautiful smile. I thank you for your videos. I have several problem areas but ,one at a time I tell myself. Weaving in ends. I'm never sure where or how much. I sometimes end up with a big lump from too much I guess. Oh and I think I might have thought of a way to crochet an ⚓ (ANCHOR) Kinda. Picot and, well that's as far as I got so far. Hahaha. Anyways, Have a super day Lavon, Idaho, USA

Hi, thank you for your kind words! This has taken time to answer, I try to go over comments once a week but sometimes just too many other things! Hope you get your anchor made, greetings from Finland!

When I do the magic circle, I take the yarn end and go over it in the next round and I've not had issues with unraveling. Just make sure to pull the end tight to keep the circle closed
@TuulaMaaria

Yes, especially if the round is single crochets you could put the yarn there in the next round. But if you cut it after just having it in the stitches once it wouldn't be likely to last.

I don’t like magic rings. I almost always chain 4 or 5 stitches and close the ring. I love your channel. Thanks!
@TuulaMaaria

@@vbrooker1 Thank you! Yes, in most cases doing a chain works equally well unless it is something where you really need to tighten the center.

I have found your tips so useful. Here are 2 that I use, in my granny square or any fancy st,. gaps. I weave the old colour end through the back loops only (it shows a little, but saves a lot of sewing later) My 2nd tip is when using the magic ring when starting the 2nd row, I pull the ring closed, then with the tail I include it in the first st of the 2nd row, then work over the tail as usual, saves sewing it in later

I dont get it. She said to weave in the granny squares at the end. But I thought you could see it within your work.

These are very good tips. Thank you Tuula for them. Good to keep in mind. I think I was lazy once in the past and crocheted over the yarn ends of the Granny square corner change of colour. Yes, I shows and doesn't look good. Lessons to be learnt.

Great tips! This is definitely a mistake I made when I first crocheted a lace design with lots of gaps and realised how ot shoes through 😄. I also think some yarns like silk, rayon and shiny cotton crochet threads can be less cooperative with this method.

If you cant weave it in because you will see it what do you do? Cut it off right? Or will it come undone?

If you weave the loose yarn into the stitches already there and then crocheting over the them will help keep them from unraveling
