Bio -
Phil Daru is the Head trainer for some of the top athletes in the world and creator of Daru Strong Training Systems and founder of Daru Strong Performance Center. Daru has degrees in sports medicine and exercise science from Alabama State University where he played division 1 football. Holding certifications with Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) Functional Range Movement Specialist (FRCms) and Kabuki Movement Specialist (NSCA-KMS).

Daru then began a career in MMA and turned professional at 21 years old where he then developed his own systems for training fighters. Daru has also competed in strongman, bodybuilding, and Bjj Gi and No Gi and currently competes in powerlifting. He has worked with well over 200 plus fighters including world champions like Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Dustin Poirier, Edson Barboza, Junior Dos Santos, Frankie Edgar, Tecia Torres, King Mo Lawal, Andrei Arlovski and many others. Coach Daru is a two time award winning Trainer of the Year for the Florida MMA Awards and Nominated for the Trainer of the Year for the World MMA Awards. He has been globally recognized for his contributions in combat sports performance and has traveled to over 10 countries teaching and mentoring. Yup, Phil puts out so much free information. He's my main go-to for strength training & conditioning ideas (for Muay Thai). If I'm ever no longer broke anymore, I will likely purchase some of his specialty content, as well.

Hey Coach. Thanks for this new video. I really like the new approach. Hearing the voice-over as an explanation while the athletes are doing exactly what you are explaining makes it much easier for me to follow the instructions when I want to try the program too. I can see the movement sequences and the level of intensity while the precise effect of the exercise is explained to me at the same time. This makes it easier to understand and implement abstract concepts into my own routine. The fact that timestamps have been added and you are going over crucial details of the KB exercises at the end makes the whole video a 10/10. Thank you very much for your work. We really appreciate it!

I just love your videos man! Always a lot of insight. I know this is way out of the sports you usually touch upon, but I would love to see how you would create a workout for people into bouldering. Keep these killer videos coming!

Do 100 goblet squats ALL the way down as far as you can go with 40 lbs dumbell. I gotta stop at 40 squats. But gotta do the squat ALLLL the way down as far as you can go so it uses your entire body for balance instead of just your glutes and quads. I gotta stop at 40 cuz im natural and almost 40 and a bit outa shape so I can feel my heart thumpin WAY too hard. If you can do 100 of them nonstop you are definately a super human! But if you wanna change it to recovery observation then just do 30. Then another 30. Then another 30.
