I think the lights you used in your room helped to get a good model.

Yes, after some more scanning, and soft diffuse lighting around the cameras area of view helps massively, reduces dark spots caused by shadows 👌

Very cool, not to mention the model you chose seems on the difficult side when it comes to scanning. I wonder if there's an option where you can re-scan certain parts, so as to not have to worry about scanning your hand while holding it. At the very least it's a solid way to get the high poly version of the model.

Thank you, there is a pause button, and you can clip off bad parts afterwards. But yeah some extra functionality during scanning would be great, I had some good success on my second attempt. Definitely a nice little tool for the kit.

This is interesting! Make a character from plasticine by hand, scan it and hang it on animation)

Is it really that worth the investment?

Really depends on what you want to do with it. Probably not if it just sits on a shelf, but with a little practice and getting to know its limitations, its by far the fastest way of producing a representation of a real life object. And its 15k cheaper than the last one i used so i'm impressed with the way technology has become more accessible.
