Thanks for doing this experiment. I noticed I experienced mental and physical fatigue before from doing too much HIIT. This caused me to have tense and sore muscles that didn't seem to be recovering even after two days rest. I've since learned to back off and reduced HIIT to once or twice a week.

True HIIT can't be done more than that anyway, so if doing more, people are not actually heating real HIIT goals but still exhausting themselves.

I used to work for a HIIT-based workout company and so ended up doing a LOT of HIIT workouts. At first it was great and my body loved it, but its hormonal impact on me in the long run in terms of stress created in the body was unfortunately very negative. I’m now relearning to love lower impact/intensity workouts like Pilates and climbing, as well as finally overcoming my fear of running! Thank you so much for these videos as they are really helpful in my current journey ❤️

Love this experiment! HIIT exercise is so great for your body but completely loses its effects when done too much which is different for everyone. I feel a combination of HIIT, strength and steady state cardio is the best option!

How does it lose effect when it's done too much? That doesn't make any sense.

@@a-roh5039 if you are doing hiit properly your body can not handle it on a daily basis. Which means are you really doing a true hiit workout?

@@a-roh5039 It stresses your nervous system if done too often. Also, your body adjusts to what you are doing, so doing just one thing all the time means your body will get more efficient at it.

Thanks for the detailed explanation and research! I love both types of exercise so it’s good to know one is not necessarily better than the other and I can just do whichever one I’m feeling that day.

Girl I’ve been watching your videos for a while now, I’m 14 weeks pregnant right now and feel so motivated watching you even more seeing your pregnant too! I’ve been so tired so hitting the gym has been an afterthought but I really want to take it slow and get back into it. You look so good girl, I see that momma glow! Thxs for posting and helping to motivate me back into my workouts!

One thing I have learned in my 43 years is that nothing works 100% of the time, for everyone, or by itself, for effective long term weight loss, especially if you are inconsistent. The only strategy that works is the one you can incorporate into your LIFESTYLE, consistently, meaning more often than not it’s there. As for the HIIT, muscle fatigue means you have micro tears in the muscle which require protein. Guess what else requires protein? Your immune system, which can be why people feel tired after hitting the gym too much. Sometimes, less is more. I was told over a decade ago that HIIT allows you to get the benefits of strength and cardio simultaneously (miracle!). However, there was a “yeah, but” in that you needed to only do it a couple of consecutive days OR work shorter circuits. I go with the intuitive approach to it. If I’m feeling tired or otherwise wrung out, I do a lower intensity activity because all movement is good movement, or just don’t go full ham. If I’m feeling like I can step on the gas, I do.

Always thought steady running or any steady cardio was better than HIIT! I worked out through out my 2 pregnancy, I did more cardio with my first one (boy) I think because he was so low and it was comfortable. Second pregnancy, I did more lifting and she sat higher. So cardio, like running wasn’t a thing too much like my first pregnancy. And I bounced back after birth, literally my stomach flat the next day! So eating healthy & keeping strong is key! So any future moms, do it for the baby and for you!❤️❤️❤️

I have a question. Is it good to switch out your workout routines? Does your body get used to an exercise and become less affective?
@melanijagaile6099
@melanijagaile6099 Жыл бұрын
Yes and no, if you do weight lifting then you want to progressively overload by reps or weight or swap every month or so from doing exercise on a machine to free weights and still apply progressive overload

I gave birth to my 3rd baby in April, my lower right side and most of my upper back hurts. I’m 5’8 and 330lbs I was wondering what basic exercises or stretches I could do, to help the pain, not to mention I’d like to lose weight and get healthy again. I love your videos, you inspire me to become to get back at working on my health and I wanted to also thank you for sharing your work out routines. Much love ❤️

Congrats on your 3rd mama 🤗💛 it’s hard to say which exercises specifically as there’s many things that could be causing this pain. That said - I’m a firm believer in taking a “less is more” approach when it comes to getting back into a routine and kickstarting your weight loss journey. Assuming you have no pre existing injuries causing this pain - even walking. Tack it onto your morning or nighttime routine. 15-20min. Nothing crazy. I know it might not sound like much, but every movement counts and often once you start moving - you’ll start feeling better and find it becomes easier to add more!

@@beyondlove19 if you’re looking for pain reduction definitely give the KZbin channel squatuniversity a try! They’re exercise physiologist and science backed. Sometimes stretching alone is pointless (only need 1-2 not 5+) and it’s about waking up stability muscles that aren’t pulling their weight. Normally I have pain squatting on my right side, but I’ll do some activation exercises and dynamic stretches they suggest that open up that area (can squat deeper too) and the pain is gone. Worth the extra 5 minutes 💯

Small changes that you can do for the long term. I went from 235 to 185. And kept it off for 2 years so far. My goal is to get to 140s and stay there. I started out taking walks with my kids. Now I ride a bike and lift weights.
