Beautiful Carlanna Lake trail is nestled in the surreal forests of Ketchikan Alaska which offers wildlife viewing, enchanted old growth forests and a moderately challenging ascent to a ridge that overlooks the city of Ketchikan as well as Perseverance and Connel Lakes. Its possible to see deer, black bear and bald eagles along this hike. ENJOY

Hi there! We are in Ketchikan on a cruise in May. We want to take our 2 kids on a hike on the Carlanna Lake Trail. How long did it take you? We may not be able to hike the whole thing with the kids, but wondering how much time to plan on. Thank you for this video and the info! We can’t wait!

Depends how old your kids are and what kind of shape y’all are in. Took us around 5 hours total with filming and all but I’m also in very good shape. The first part of the hike is slightly uphill and a tiny rocky. Once you reach the lake that part of the trail is real nice and paved and family friendly. Once you get to the end of the lake the trail ascends quickly and steeply and eventually gets harder to find and can het quite wet muddy and slippery. BUT, the views are worth it. Depending on the year and snowfall it may not even be passable beyond the lake anyways in May.

Isn't that the same trail that comes out or enters from Ward Lake? I love all the trees and mossy rocks. Oh, no, it's not. I see now. :)
