Whoops, just said nearly the exact same thing. I think most of us watch for his personality and excitement over what he’s making over the food. The food is important because it creates the excitement, but it’s his reaction that’s fun and different. He clearly loves his family to bits and they’re a total credit to him, and from experience I think it’s so important to find the balance.

Happy Belated Birthday, Mrs Barry. I hope Chloe goes onto bigger and greater things - she's a natural performer. My one and only stage appearance was when my primary school staged a production of the Wizard of Oz. I played the dead witch's feet - and I only got that part because me and the girl who played Dorothy had the same pair of red shoes.

Suggestion on the pie. thawed drained and patted dry cherries. the clear cherry flavored gel. with the cherries placed into the gel before it sets. no glaze with thin crisp crust.

I also was given an over grown (zoo key knee) it was the size of a 747. I just ended up blanching it and placed cut up pieces on a cookie sheet then freezing the lot for later use. May your presents be many and your cake be great on your big day. Happy Birthday.

I think what people like about your channel is the fact it doesn’t focus so much on the food, instead it feels one on one and personal. A cameraman and making things more stylised will take that away, and essentially that’s taking away your point of difference making this like all the other channels. On the other hand, an editor would save you those same hours and hours too, but the personal aspect will remain. You have a lot of great ideas, But at the end of the day TIME with your family is the important thing, far more important than setting them up for the future, especially if it means missing out on the present. Just my opinion but i think you have to find a way to preserve what you’ve created (seriously get an editor, not cameraman), and follow just one of your ideas that lets you not miss out on the family too. You really can’t do it all, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

42:41 - That shot of the kitchen, with all the copper pots, gave me a flashback to 1991, when I did a summer job working in the Ipswich museums. One is a place called Christchurch Mansion, and I filled in for the attendants who took holidays. One week, my area included the kitchens, and meant that I had to clean the cookware on show, which included a great many copper items, like fish kettles, etc. We had special cleaning stuff for everything, but the copper took the most time to do properly, as copper stains easily, and it seemed that visitors couldn't help but touch it - hundreds of fingerprints all over the stuff.

I've made like casserole/lasagna using some of those large zucchini squash before, pretty much just slice them thin an layer them with the sauce an cheese like you would a regular lasagna.

ZUCCHINI SLICE 5 eggs 150g (1 cup) self-raising flour, sifted 375g zucchini, grated 1 large onion, finely chopped 200g rindless bacon, chopped 1 cup grated cheddar cheese 60ml (1/4 cup) vegetable oil METHOD Step 1 Preheat oven to 170C. Step 2 Beat the eggs in a large bowl until combined. Add the flour and beat until smooth, then add zucchini, onion, bacon, cheese and oil and stir to combine. Step 3 Grease and line a 30 x 20cm lamington pan. Pour into the prepared pan and bake in oven for 30 minutes or until cooked through.

Don't give up on the clear cherry pie just because you didn't like the results of your first try. Where would we be if everyone did that? Identify what you're not satisfied with and adjust the recipe to fix it. Make the base thinner, use more clear filling, and either eliminate the topping, or make adjustments so it doesn't bleed through. Perhaps add the cooled glaze before the cherries to act as a barrier against any juices from seeping into the filling.
