When ever I leave my car after parking.... I always turn around and check it out at a distance. Jags just look so good.

Howard Hughes the 2nd I can relate to that ;-). I do the same

That's always been my test of a pretty car, even with my X-type from some angles, and definitely from my XJ8 X-350!!!

I just bought a 2012 XF, it’s an absolutely stunning looking car.

2012-2015 is the best in my opinion

Adam Woodward Totaly agree. The current Jaguars, albeit beautiful, are losing brand personality and individuality between models...
@findingrush7 жыл бұрын
Honestly, especially the rear end of the car. The 2012-2015 looks so modern still. The 2016+ XF's rear took a huge step back in design.

I agree. So, not in a hurry to upgrade my '13.

All beautiful! But 2nd gen does it for me. Thanks for the video.

Tenddeapact Solutions I agree. I would love to buy a 2nd gen 3.0 s/c and am currently looking at getting one. Just waiting for a white one with low mileage ;-)

The facelift from 2011 looks so better than the new one. Even the 2008 looks still good it's classy and looks more expensive than the new XF

I don't think the older model really looks that dated compared to the current one. Of course the screen / infotainment system does. These things age very quickly. But the quality of the materials is just soo good. My 2010 XF still looks like new inside (also thanks to the previous owner who took excellent care of it).

After looking at the 3 versions of the XF, I bought a two year old low mileage 2nd generation and absolutely love it. It combines the best of the wood and leather 1st generation with much tidied up front and rear lights. Thanks so much for your vids - they certainly helped me make the decision.

I’ve just brought a 2015 Jaguar 🐆 XF R Sports 2.2i Diesel Automatic and I love it 😻 it’s great to drive and so comfortable this is my dream car and when driving I am so happy 😀 puts a smile on my face knowing I own this car thanks Jaguar 🐆🇬🇧👍🏻

Congrats Kevin. I now own a 2016 2.0L petrol and love the power. It's on par with my old 3.0L V6, but the acceleration is more visceral than the naturally aspirated car. I'm sure yours turns heads in a sea of BMW, Mercedes and Audi ;)

Hilton thanks Hilton I am privileged to be the owner of my new used Jaguar 🐆 XF R Sport 2.2i Diesel Automatic 2015 model, it’s a great looking car, so comfortable and GREAT to drive I have a smile 😊 every time I am in the car, thank you Jaguar for giving me my dream car 🐆 🇬🇧 👏👏👏👍🏻

I've just bought a XF Diesel V6 2009 Premium. From a dealer, silver, really like it. Been serviced since new by official Jag Dealears. I pick it up in a week's time can't wait ! Initially I didn't like they grey interior but i feel it blends better with the silver buttons inside, and the silver colour on the outside. Personally I like the original version, to the facelifted versions, they span the old and new Jaguar's really well, it looks modern yet old fashioned at the same time. The modern ones look to generic in comparison, too much like Audis etc etc.

I love my XF 2010, and i don't like what they did to the rear of the car, while front of 2017 looks great, rear lost its character. Of course it's only my personal opinion.
@carfanfan6 жыл бұрын
Grom I must agree with you. The sexy Aston Martin type rear is gorgeous compared to the new F-Type "type" tail lights :-)

I have the XF 2008 Premium luxury edition fully loaded which I have fell in love with, I like the muscular look of it even the headlights work for me, but I know it will not last and I'll have to upgrade later, I'm gone enjoy it for now and stay with the XF through it's iterations.

Just received all the brochures for the 2008 launch model, "What Car of the Year 2008" and "Executive Car of the Year 2008" what's not to like. We also own a 2017 XE that my wife drives and there is no difference between the two in driving feel, which is testament to the engineering of the XF. I'm enjoying your videos keep it going, thank you.

I bought my face lifted 2012 XF S in November 2021 and have put nearly 10k miles on the clock. In that time I had to replace 3 tyres and the N/S inlet manifold (common problem on the XF S) and a window regulator (partly covered by second hand car warranty). This has put my maintenance bill in less than a year to around £1600. My service and MOT is due in a couple of months but other than those major and minor repairs I have had no issues with this car at all. Every time I get inside it makes me smile, the car is so comfy and quite on the inside and it looks beautiful at all angles. It is hands down the best car I have ever driven and do not plan to sell it anytime soon.
@carfanfan2 жыл бұрын
All cars need maintenance as they get older. Kinda like an old dog. As it ages, visits to the vet become more frequent. If you stick to keep the maintenance up, then it will be just fine, but let one issue go, they start to pile up to the point where it's no longer viable to maintain it and one has to let it go. I never skimp on maintenance or servicing. That way the car just stays in tip top shape.

Love Hilton's insights. These Jags drive & look so elegant. Beautifully proportioned, ultra reliable and low cost to run. Make German marques appear clunky & overweight.

Great YT channel Hilton! I'm the proud owner of a 2008 XF SV8 - a simply awesome vehicle! My vote is for the Series 1 look as it retains some of the elements of the classic XJ/S-Type - slanted grille, scalloped headlights and rear hip. Not a fan of at all of the Series 3 with the vertical Bentley-style grille, bland headlights and no rear hip- most of all no V8! The twin supercharged 4.2 litre in my XF is without peer. Mine's got 160,000km on the clock and yes, I've encountered the common issues with Series 1 but de-bugged now and as reliable as a high performance car can be. I'll be as bold to say the Jaguar marque is unique in the power-ride-handling blend and the XF holds a unique place in the Jag lineup.

@frankpatton77056 жыл бұрын
nice.... I own the 2009 and its paid for so I don't believe its worth a purchase of a newer model based on the little refinements that have been modified thru the years. My 5.0 XF (385hp) runs like a champ but had to get the gremlins out of it (drain on the battery due to a modular heated passenger seat issue). But all is well for now............

I agree fully. Mine is in for service today and still going strong. If it ain't broke, why replace?

Aliihsan AKSOY You are right, that's a very good point. I guess we could call 2010-2011 the XF 1.25 and the 2011-2015 the XF 1.5 and the latest one 2.0 ;-).

What in love about my black 2010 3.0 d s is that I have nothing to prove. My son has a 2011 facelift model in white and it is a real head turner. And like so many here. I don't just park my car and walk away, I have to look back as I walk away and just wish I could get straight back in it and drive some more. It is insane to think that a car like that is costing me 30 UK pounds more to insure than my wife's focus 2.0 titanium, is giving me 44 mpg on a 40 mile run to work in the winter ( though I expect that to improve when the warmer weather gets here ) and has a 0 60 time of 5.7 seconds. And does all that in almost complete silence..
@carfanfan6 жыл бұрын
Dave France You know Dave, that's why I keep saying the XF is the best kept secret 😁. I love parking my car in front of the coffee shop and getting a table by the window to watch how people admire it as they walk by. They can't help but turn around just like I do and appreciate its sheer beauty. Its like a four door Aston Martin to them 😀

I love my 2009 XF except the front lights but what they did to the car version after version is terrible. Especially the rear of the new versions looks like all the other normal cars from Audi, BMW etc. That´s why I think about to change the brand of my next car.
@carfanfan4 жыл бұрын
I agree, I'm going to go back to an older shape XF myself. The new one just doesn't quite do it for me.
@nicholasbabeaux20526 жыл бұрын
Even though I have a 2010 XF 5.0, I'd have to agree that the 2nd generation facelift looks the best, the front of the third generation looks good, not as unique as the first two generations. The 3rd Generation rear end looks so plain, it looks a little better on S models though. I had a third-generation loner for a week and of course any new Jag is going to be nice but the interior was very plain and not nearly as nice as my 2010.
@carfanfan6 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more Nick. I definitely won't be buying a new XF. I'm a bit disappointed with Jaguar watering their cars down lately. Quality of materials just isn't there anymore. Mercedes Benz did this a decade ago and sales started to drop. Now if you look inside any Merc, you'll be greeted with genuine leather, wood and aluminium accents.
@nicholasbabeaux20526 жыл бұрын
Hilton that being said though, The F-pace is quite stunning, and well the F-Type is drop dead gorgeous....
@carfanfan6 жыл бұрын
Hey Nick, yes the F-Pace is definitely an eye catcher. I'd have to wait a few years for depreciation to kick in before I'd buy one though. They depreciate like crazy in the first two years and then again when the maintenance plan runs dry.
@nicholasbabeaux20526 жыл бұрын
Hilton Oh yes totally, I'd say maybe 3 years, then get one with 30k miled or so as at least here in the US they have a 5 year 60k mile warranty

The 2nd gen is by far the best. The steering wheel on the latest model looks hideously cheap.

The entire 3rd gen XF is cheap, yet not so when it comes to the price you pay for it. It's a diluted version of the first and 2nd gen XFs

When did they take away the V8 from the deviating XF line up?
@carfanfan4 жыл бұрын
2015 the last V8 XF rolled off the line in the form of an XFR-S. The standard 5.0 V8 was discontinued in 2014 when the 3.0 s/c was introduced. The new XF never saw a V8 and the 3.0 s/c became the flagship model. Jag recently dropped the 3.0 s/c from the XE lineup and my guess is when they facelift the XF, they'll drop the V6 from the XF lineup as well.

The 2012 to 2015 generation XF sort of looks like the xj from the front especially
@carfanfan5 жыл бұрын
It sure does. The reason Jaguar didn't produce it like we saw it as a concept car is because they used the look for the XJ which was just about to be launched. They should have made it like this from the start.
