About the Einstein-one: The myth is very popular here in Germany and even part of the title song of the kids-series "Schloss Einstein" (Einstein Castle). I did some research on this topic and as it seems, this is a confusing one, because Einstein went to school for some time in Switzerland. Similar to Germany, Switzerland uses a number-based grading system (instead of letters, like in the US). But at that time, their numbers were different. So in Germany, a 1 is the best note and a 6 is the worst, but in switzerland it was the opposite, so when we take a look at Einsteins school report from his final year, he is shown to have a 6 in Algebra and a 6 in geometry, but that equals an A. Similar story for earlier reports.

I got curious about where the myth that The Great Wall of China is visible from space actually comes from, so I did a little research! As it turns out (unsurprisingly), the myth started way before anyone had been to space. In a letter all the way back from 1754, English writer and archaeologist William Stukeley compared Hadrian's Wall to The Great Wall, writing that such a "considerable figure upon the terrestial globe may be discernible from the moon". In 1895 another English writer, Sir Henry Norman, also mentioned it in a passing comment in his book "The Peoples and Politics of the Far East", stating that The Great Wall "enjoys the reputation of being the only work of human hands on the globe visible from the Moon". Then in May 1932, "Ripley's Believe It Or Not!" (a newspaper cartoon centered around bizarre facts) called the wall "The mightiest work of man - The only one that would be visible to the human eye from the moon!" in an otherwise wonderfully ignorant and racist piece about Chinese customs. I haven't researched it further, but it seems the cartoon really made the myth take off and become "common knowledge", at least in the US. I hope this was somewhat interesting to someone, and if I missed anything or got anything wrong then feel free to tell me!

Hey, man! Just found your channel yesterday and I love it. I'm graduating university right now and struggled to do readings and felt unmotivated to do work at times; However, I look forward to seeing more of your videos, learning at my own pace, and having it be something other than nursing for the first time in years 😅 Thank you for doing this!

Mr. Eddie, I hope you having a good day. STAY AWESOME!! This was fun. I do enjoy random tidbits of history. Have you checked out the History VS series? It take people in history and puts them on trial. Genghis Khan was on there. Henry the VIII if memory serves. As a historian I think you might enjoy those.

Important to mention that in the east asian schools of buddhism, the Buddha is considered a god, in china he is often mixed in with their own folk gods. Also saying Buddha is kind of wrong as that is a title there can be many Buddhas but when People say Buddha they mean the Buddha

Also for the pyramids workers, some remains have been found with traces of surgery like healed hole on the skull amongst other things, sure they wouldn't have wasted time and resources if they were just common slaves.

I think that people trying to find a reason for Hitler being the way he was, is due to not people wanting to believe that a (big quotes) """regular""" person wouldn't be capable of committing such fucked up things and that there needed to be a reason for it.

i would disagree with number 6. they may not be slaves in the traditional meaning but they were subjects of a totalitrian system that could torture them for every little thing, they werent free to move and they could not chose there own occupation. p.s. they definatly didnt owne there own land. all land was owned by the pharao. work was managed by a central authority.

Oof, allergies are no joke. 🤧 I have tried every allergy medication on the market, and the only thing that works for me is 12-hour Vicks nasal spray. Two sprays to each side in the morning, and repeat before bed. Now my allergies are only irritating, rather than debilitating. Also, there's an ERB between George Washington and George Wallace. It's got some great lines.
