HISTORICAL Hurricane TEDDY Swell | BIGGEST EAST COAST in Years!

-Season 2 : Episode 49-
Hurricane Teddy combined with a Nor'Easter to provide the biggest swell to hit Cape Hatteras since Winter Storm Riley in March 2018. And as the swell began to die, there was a window of said 12-15ft barrels, and a few bigger sets pushing near 20ft! One of the top biggest barreling days I've ever seen in the OBX.
And then on Day 2 we were graced with an all day wave feast, from dawn till dusk. What a blessing of surf after getting hammered for 5 days with the road closed and washed out.
And @Koa Rothman got to be here and witness it!

Thank you for recording these epic days.At 63 years old my days of experiencing these kind of waves are over.In my younger days living in Cocoa beach in the late 70’s 76 thru 78 we experienced some epic days that were similar.No go pros,no digital cameras,only film and super 8.Worst of all no one to record the events.Only memories and old guy stories.By watching I do get to relive the images in my mind.Again thank you for sharing.I worked at Mike Tabeling’s surfboard shop in Cocoa during those years.

I thought I was going to dread a 42 minutes film but this is one of the best surfing vlogs I have seen in a long time. So many skilled surfers. So many giant waves. Action oriented from start to finish. Honestly I don't know how you had the stamina to continue through the entire second day. Very high quality and epic from start to finish!!!

Been there, Done that. Lived in KDH, and KH when I was aboard the USCGC Point Brown at Oregon Inlet. Then moved to Buxton when I transferred to the Group Cape Hatteras. Loved those big days of NE'rs and post Hurricane swells. Loved those 10-15' days, only a couple of days it got 20-25' at the lighthouse before it moved back in 84-85

love the new technology, my short board was a 9 foot "California Gun" , a big floater and fast paddler and I could catch anything! We rode some monsters in the 90's. But that....was totally insane! Being Surfed Out is the best high! Surfed Anastasia Island in 2000 after Floyd rolled through, they closed the bridge it was perfect and no one out but me, my wife and my neighbor.

DAMN. This was Crazy. I have never seen anything like that at OBX. Been goin there for 25 years. You are all Really amazing surfers. The details that you spoke of in terms of rip/high/low tide, etc is really great to a more novice who has been caught in many oceanic changes at OBX.
