Shotaro ishinomori is also a great manga author and known as the "king of manga" and is former assistant of Ozamu Tezuka the "father of manga"; Ishinomori also created many tokusatsu alongside super sentai and the kamen rider series.

In the late eighties, a handful of episodes of Dynaman got a "What's Up, Tiger Lily?" style gag dub for airing as part of the USA cable network's "Night Flight" block and was later aired on Nickelodeon.

According to rangerwiki, sometime in 1987-88, but I can't personally confirm that, as part of Nick's Saturday Afternoon "Special Delivery" anthology. Again, there were only like 6 episodes of this Dynaman gag dub. I was college age then, so I wasn't watching Nickelodeon at the time. I stumbled onto the tail end of an episode on "Night Flight" in the middle of a Friday night.

It’s worth noting that the Sentai seasons would at times have wildly different stories and themes from their Power Rangers counterparts. For example Dairanger had multiple episodes tackling themes of child abuse and abandonment, which Piwer Rangers were not allowed to tackle at the time. We did eventually get more serious topics but they’ve become less frequent over time. We still get them every now and then though with the last Power Rangers special focusing on Trini’s death and her orphaned daughter dealing with the loss.

Damn Dairanger sounds dark, yeah I never knew that wow, yeah Power Rangers ain’t touching those topics for sure. But I didn’t know that Power Rangers touched on Trini’s death, I need to catch that special.

@@GrizzyKanglive The Once and Always special was meant to be a tribute to Thuy Trang’s passing (Trini’s actress) so it made sense. Something I do find interesting is Minh (Trini’s daughter who wants revenge) is under Zack’s guardianship. Likely a reference to the comics where Zack and Trini started dating.

My first Super sentai is Denshi sentai Denjiman. I watched it when I was 3-4 year old that made it to be my favorite Super sentai. Nowaday I'm nearly 50 but still watch this franchise and will keep watching it not matter how much old I am 😁

Fun fact, there are more male yellow rangers than the female ones. So the power rangers you have seen that don't have skirt is because their counterparts are male.

I can see that, it’s still wild to me how switched a few things on MMPR, one of them being the yellow ranger going from male to female. It was crazy finding that out when I started watching the super sentai version.

Some info in the video you watched is a little false,Goranger(the first sentai) was always called a sentai and was always a part of the super sentai franchise,Battle Fever J was not the first show to be known as super sentai,it always was and always has been Goranger
