people dislike Courtney because, at least as a performer, she was loud and vulgar - where vulgar is the name associated with any discussion of women's issues like sexual and emotional abuse. she flew in the face of thr concept that feminine = cute, dainty, and unobtrusive. we needed her and her music. still do.

@@hanajinks1044 well basically most online lyrics for this song claim it says “I’m your lover, I’m your friend, I’m purity, hit me again” which doesn’t make sense. When actually the song goes: He said, “I’m your lover, I’m your friend, I’m pure” and he hit me again, which I believe is to indicate the guy in the song is gaslighting the woman, by telling her that he’s the good guy, he’s got good intentions, while at the same time he’s hitting her, or at least that’s how I interpret it :) keep in mind the song was written about an actual case of kidnapping (and murder I think?) happened back in the 60s/70s

Live Through This is much more thematically focused and feels like a more complete album from start to finish than any of Nirvana's releases - which is another reason why I found the whole "Kurt wrote the songs on Live Through This" extremely silly. I love hole as a band. But Courtney is not disliked because "She's a storng outspoken woman". She was disliked because she was a drama queen and a well-known narcissist to mainstream and underground alt bands at the time in the same inner circle. TIme and time again people from said bands have spoken up about her behavior and that has nothing to do with her music. If Courtney was such a respectable woman, her daughter wouldn't have had to announce on social media time and time again she was raised by her grandma and had to work to build a relationship with her mother and forgive her mother for who knows what issues we don't know. All we do know is that CL's reputation was ruined by herself, not hollywood.

The meaning behind: "I know it I can't feel it But I know it enough to believe it" The beggining in all this dark stuffs I'll talk about in this comment "I know it I can't see it But I know it enough To believe it" I think it's clever she talks about feel that something isn't right "Bet on u bet on me My better half has bitten me" Object 'you' is her better half which destroyed her "Bet on u bet on me Oh sleeping with my enemy myself" Start hating urself and trying to lose ur personality "The pieces of Jennifer's body Found pieces of Jennifer's body" She's forgotten and lonely, someone trade her and only pieces stayed from someone's memory to her "Just relax 2x just go to sleep" No one cares how she feels and they are totally relaxed "You're hungry, but I'm starving" She talks about time before he forgot her and another woman who tried to steal him (it's just songwriter's example for being forgotten, this isn't a love song) "He cuts u down from the tree" He forgot his woman and went to another one "He keeps u in a box by the bed alive or just barely" He keeps her in a place they can be alone and she's happy, but he made it like a box so forgotten woman can't see anything "He said I'm Ur Lover I'm Ur Friend I'm pure and he hit me again" He took that another woman and ex felt like he hit her "With a bullet no. 1" Strongest he could "Kill the family save the son himself" He thinks only about urself and he would do anything, even crack his own family to get what he wants "Now she's mine" She wants some kind of revenge

Did they use this song in the movie? If not, such a missed opportunity

Barney Os. The movie was named after the song as the director, Diablo Cody, is a big Hole fan, and yes, I believe it was in the movie...end credits maybe

The way she is?? How is she other than a talented, bad ass, Grunge Rock Godess! A Mother who has been to hell and back but still looks amazing and still is a GOAT , holding her head up and still is living at almost 60 years of age! She has a Golden Globe. Was a knock out in the film, The People verses larry Flint, starred along side Jim Carrey in The Man On the Moon, starred in Trapped along Charlize Theron, was in Basquiet, The Menendez Brothers, Sid and Nancy, she wrote books, best sellers, has her OWN money, raised a daughter by herself,kicked her drug habit and more.. so what are you on, what MORE do you want of this woman!??

didn jennifer’s body movie steal this idea?
@pixi3d3ath473 жыл бұрын
i don't think they stole the idea. it was based off a real life murder of a girl kidnapped by a group of guys who sacrificed her for a satanic ritual. but the concept is very similar to the movie ginger snaps-girl turns into a monster and kills people. courtney hated the movie tho bc she didn't like the title being used for the film.
@ROBBEAUDOIN664 жыл бұрын
Courtneys music was more edgy then Nervanas, She was more punk from when punk was core. I have alwasy liked her stuff all of it....Its gritty in all the right ways and smooth when it needs to be, the swing to this track is fn prime.

That would mean 'Jennifer is'. So it's incorrect

@@SadieMc81 no, it would be possessive. The body belongs to Jennifer.
