Adam sander has hotel Transylvania (okay its for kids but it’s a pretty fun kids movie) Will Farrell had the LEGO movie. So it can be done. Just give them a good script with a fun character and they can pull through. Providing they want to. I’m more worried about Jim Carey. He seems to have had a break down and quit movies for the moment to make paintings. I hope he recovers and finds a second wind for making good comedy.

I've always found that movie to be overrated as fuck, watched it 3 times because I was trying to see if I had missed anything, but no. Really couldn't get into it. I am gonna say it.. Will Farell is not funny to me at all. The "Man Child" that he plays in every movie is so forced and annoying it is hard for me to watch. It almost reminds me of a Pauly Shore type character and for the life of me I can not get into it at all. Which is strange because I absolutely adore Rowan Atkinson in all of his comedic roles where oddly enough he does play a bit of a bumbling man child in Mr. Bean. But I would rather watch 8 hours of that than one hour of a Will Farell bit. I guess it just adds up to taste but that is my opinion.

People who didn't like this movie probably also didn't like Step Brothers. Ferrell and Reilly have an amazing comic chemistry and it was here in this movie. Granted, it's a bit like seeing a couple of old goofy friends do some comedy routines so I guess if you never liked them in their previous stuff you won't like this one either. My wife and I are fans and we laughed our asses off.

This movie has given me an epiphany. I’ve finally realized how cringeworthy Will Ferrell is besides some SNL skits. I think Ferrell can write some silly comedy, and Reilly is actually talented.
