This would be a cool little device for vacations, a person who lives in an apartment, or a kid going off to college. Would I buy one? Probably not, but the price is very reasonable for what it sounds like you can do. Yeah, you can pretty much do everything you mentioned with a set of bands. But, let’s face it. This is a bit more sleek of a package.
@ParkerBinion2 жыл бұрын
You are talking about the Ancore, which costs $750 for 65 lbs resistance. It's much larger at nearly 180 cubic inches and 9 lbs (vs 40 cu in and 1.5 lbs for the Pump) and only has one mode (of accomodating / resistance band-like) resistance. No software or electronics or battery, so maybe it will last longer than the Pump? That's the only potential benefit. Meanwhile, no app or any way to track your workouts make it even worse by comparison. Handy Gym looks great in comparison to Ancore. Between the three, Handy Gym vs. Pump is the real choice to make. Ancore is last place.

@@GlucksGym i'm sure it'll be ok for non mass monsters that don't need a lot of weight. but i do also wonder, as you said in the vid, about the longevity of the device. the way things are made now days, we'll be lucky if it lasts more than 3 yrs. when it does eventually break, i hope they have some kind of repair of replacement warranty that's a good length and not a measly 1 yr deal.
@realityandnaturepill2 жыл бұрын
@@wyllischu2467 Fair enough but that's the same durability and warranty as very expensive smartgyms such as Tonal and Speediance. Speediance comes with a 2 year warranty for the machine, 1 year on accessories and Tonal comes with a 3 warranty that doesn't cover anything. Recently I've been in contact with the company that manufactures the Speediance machines, they're based in China. Their reaction to the issues of durability and warranty are quite telling, going as far as to compare it to the Iphone and stating that those who like it will pay for it regardless of that disadvantage. That's a strange analogy though; certain individuals purchase expensive phones and cars as a status symbol, it's hard to do that with a smart gym because it's not portable.
@wyllischu24672 жыл бұрын
@@realityandnaturepill imo if there's any kind of computer tech involved it should come with at least 2 yrs minimum for parts b/c the tech probably will last over a yr before things start to go wrong depending on how often the piece of tech is used. It rarely will break within a yr unless it's abused.
@realityandnaturepill2 жыл бұрын
@@wyllischu2467 Absolutely, my only advice for that would be to read the warranty details. For example; Tonal does not cover software , software functionality, damage by misuse or accident, damage to your property (it's attached to your wall) or normal wear & tear. Both Tonal and Speediance offer only a 1-year warranty for accessories (the ones that cost 400 dollars). None of these companies are offering even a decent warranty for their products. If they don't believe in the quality and lifetime of their expensive product then why would I do so? Another issue is this; if there is no warranty for the software or technological aspects and no way to access or repair this, who's to say that they cannot implement planned obsolescence? Speediance compared their product to an Iphone, that's not a good thing. Everything that's "smart" is mainly designed in a way to have a short lifetime so you'll purchase a new product sooner. Why sell a powerrack with a lifetime warranty if you can sell a Tonal to a wealthy fool every 5 years?

Gluck I'm sure U have seen the Major Lutie Power Racks They use 11 Gauge steel 3 x 3 uprights and cost around $700 I could not believe the price. I just started my home gym so I have researched every kind of rack out there and I just saw these about 2-3 weeks ago. I found them on Amazon. How can they sell them so low? I would love to see U do a review on these power racks. BTW, my 1st priority was a cable set up and the best I could find was the Major Lutie and Elevtab rack with a cable system built in. I went with Elevtab, it is 2x3 uprights with 14 Gauge steel and laser cut numbers. Not crazy about the Gauge but it came with a cable system and it was by far the cheapest cable and rack system out there. Major Lutie does not have laser cut numbers on racks with a cable system so I went with Elevtab. I see now there is a ER Kang or something like that and it is exactly the same rack I got. For a regular guy, These racks it seems are gonna cut hard into REP, Rogue and the other companies who want a lot more money for the same rack.

Max capacity of 1400lb for the cage? Laughably low for the price. Hell, the titan x3 has a rackable capacity of 1600 pounds with a capacity of over 6k for the cage for a lower price. It has some nice attachments but the footprint is huge. Definitely looks like a shill post

@@kevonbob4131 U need to look again. Max capacity on their 14 Gauge 3 x 3 is 1400 lbs. Max capacity on their 11 Gauge 3 x 3 rack is the same as REPs and ROGUEs . U looked at it wrong. Look at its specs and U will see how big the price margin is on ROGUEs , REPs, and the other companies racks. Probably around 250%-300% profit margin but Gluck wont do a review video on it as I requested because he is mad at me because I disagreed with his recommendation on the Precher Pad for $150. He wont even answer my questions anymore, he avoids me like the plague now just because of the preacher pad. A pillow would work just as well. I've given him 2 video ideas and he wont acknowledge me when he used to acknowledge any comment I made. These racks are for real and is gonna hurt REP, ROGUE the most because they are the main rack companies

I was expecting 300 bucks for the base model after the review. 150 bucks is cheaper than a lot of the elite fts band sets, which are the usual portable training recommendation.

Off topic, but I know you love benches. Have you seen the Average Dad Reviews Fitness channel? Same sense of humour and his video of the Rep bench is good example from 6:23 onwards. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIO3YXilobKfjck
