Nice job! My iguana cage is on a concrete slab, it's 5' wide, 8' long and 8' high and has a kiddie pool in the bottom for him to swim. Our iguana is 5' 5" long, we have had him for 16-years. my wife caught him outside our house in Florida when he was about 3' long. It's her baby, sometimes I think she loves the iguana more than me. this the third cage I have built for it and the last

I have the same name for one of my iguana lol. I really am on a budget and I been looking for tanks but they are super expensive for. Huge one since I have two. And this is perfect. Is there any way you can demonstrate how you made the lamp work. Connection, outlet and all. I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I like the hose you hooked up to the fogger. Could you tell me the size, and how you connected them? I plan on doing something similar and will greatly appreciate it.
@peterbarrio15339 жыл бұрын
Raymond Walters the Reptifogger already comes with one I just added a 3 1/4" PVC hose and put it behind the branch. Make sure the end of the PVC hose is blocked off so no fog escapes only from the holes you drill in the PVC hose.

Great great cage im going to recreat the exact but bigger.one question doesnt it get hot where the draws are?
@peterbarrio153310 жыл бұрын
It looks like drawers but it's a door and there is space for a bucket for the Mistking system and the humidifier, they're set on timers so it won't get hot. There's also space to keep food and supplies. Hope this answers your question, thanks for your comment and good luck with your cage.

What was the approximate cost for the supplies? Im getting a few month old iguana in a few days and I don't want to keep him in a fish tank lol. Mary Guana looks super happy in her home and it looks amazing, Id really like to build something like this for the one Im getting so he can be big and happy.

Just curious where you found the Styrofoam that large and in what kind of shape it's in now? Did it hold up to claws or does your iguana not try to climb it at all? Very nice job!
@peterbarrio15339 жыл бұрын
***** Home Depot sells them in 4x8, had to cut it to add another 2 feet. When she was little she didn't really climb the walls,but she did leave a few scratches. That was the first cage I build but I saw how fast she was growing so I made a bigger stronger cage but she would probably destroy it now.

Love the Display you made.. I have a Green tree python.. going to make a custom cage.. My question is the animals waste in the cage.. how is the outdoor carpet working?????? thought about buying the out door carpet at hardware store. Use it for the flooring but have a few back ups.. when one gets dirty put it in the washer if it fits. or wash in the bath tube..
@philipsalazar40869 жыл бұрын
You can wash it or clean it with a damp cloth. In my case it's different because my iguana poops in the pool so my carpet doesn't really get dirty. I think the carpet looks good but I don't know if you won't mind cleaning it all the time.

What's the song called and how come you used mdf instead of mfc chipboard? Also or a few parts of that you could have your could have used half lap joints and pocket hold joints for that also why didn't you?
@peterbarrio153310 жыл бұрын
Song is”she doesn't mind" by Sean Paul. I used plywood not mdf because plywood is more economical. Mdf also absorbs more water and will cause it to expand. I didn't really understand the other part...sorry

This is awesome! My iguana is about 18 months old & he is in a 40gal tank. He's getting too big for it(if he isn't already) & I need to make him a bigger cage but I don't have the money. :(
@philipsalazar40869 жыл бұрын
You should try to make it a basic cage, the plywood is inexpensive and you could make a comfortable size cage. The 4x8 ft plywood are about $10 each, you need 4 and 2x4 ft plywood are about $4 each you need 8 of those. Then when you have some money you can slowly add decor. The important thing is the space for your iguana. You also need the uvb and uv lights so it can grow healthy.
