I have experienced that as an experiment.. I belong to the catholic religious congregation.. that was 2018, our head priest asked us to be a homeless for 24 hours at sydney..😃 & we did it & we begged from people for food.. somehow we received some free food from free food van..😃 that was great experience..

Usually it's a combination of factors, creating a domino effect, that's takes them to the streets. Often abuses in families is a root cause, it creates the initial instability, after that various challenges, addictions, economic hardships, mental issues, social isolation, one after another leads to the roads. All that is true , but there is something called will power, no matter what you can pull yourself out of the ditch, but sadly beings give up, because its easy to give up than face the uphill battle of problems. You can think of homelessness as a step before suicide, the last chance to survive in this life. So it's our immense responsibility to help those at the rock-bottom develop some self care and will power, so they can pull them out of the streets. my uncle was a homeless person in sri lanka during late 90s, in Colombo, divorce and alcoholism did it for him , we still don't know how or when he died, street life can end suddenly and silently. Thanks for sharing real stuff.

Some people choose to be homeless due to mental conditions. Sad to see that in the rich world. In Los Angeles, it's not a pretty sight to see 1000,'s of tents of homeless people due to housing issues etc. Well, it's luck of the draw isn't it. Some don't have that luck.

Australian law, family home, and assets divided 50% between both parties. Even the wife gave up her job for family. It does not matter if you are employed or not. Once the sale of the house get divided, nothing much left for them to buy another house. Man might be able to if his new partner has a job. His ex wife cannot afford rent, no work experience to find a job. She lost her kids to exhusband because she is homeless. Family courts won't allow kids to live on the streets. At the end, his ex wife loose her house and kids. That's why women should never give up their careers for family. Go back to work as soon as your kids starts attending school. Be financially independent. Do not depend on a man income.
