Small thing, when you welded your front brakes to the hub you ground your work on the rotor, so the ground has to go through the bearing, thats not ideal. Crazy work man keep it up and its awesome you can now ride it on the streets!

I saw this too, the bearings won't last very long after being micro welded.

When I first started welding I was making an exhaust for a mini bike and I had put the ground on the engine shaft and started welding.....that motor died 2 days later from a rod knock lol 😆
@ripstephenhawking87879 күн бұрын
I feel like you should be said that the reason why you don't ever wish to pass welding current through a bearing is because bearings are relatively small in contact area to be you know it's easy to Pivot as possible and when you pass welding current through something that's not a solid homogeneous piece of metal where the two pieces of metal touch such as at the balls in the ball bearing you have a tendency to get arcing and those little balls can Ark to each other and can put little pits and severely damaged and Destroy bearings and not very long time I'm supposed to leave if you get to consider that they're going to be destroying themselves because you're not going to be passing current while you're out riding the bike...

If you can move the tail light to a different spot I'd recommend it. The underside of a wing (on a car, top side of an airplane) is the low pressure side which is much more sensitive than the high pressure side. This is why swan neck mounts exist. So mounting the tail light like that is probably causing the wing to stall and losing basically all of it's downforce. Lowering it a few inches will probably help the wing a lot.

Nice car and nice build. U have the right motivation to do this work. U also have some great tools to work with including a great dad it looks like. I did the same thing sort of when I was 16-19. 77 now. But no dad and no help all my own little bit of money. Just built the prototype for the first funny car back in the mid 60's. Don Garlits saw it and came to my home to see how I put a 427 ford engine with Algon injection into the front seat area of a 57 ford Fairlane. Built my own fiberglass front end, moved the front tube axle forward 21" and back axle up 10", and car weighed 1700 lbs. Detroit drag strip didn't know how to categorize it. Car was street legal. The next year Garlits had a full blown funny car and the rest is HIS history. I sold the car to a high school and went to Vietnam. That was mine.

Nice build but I have one suggestion for you. When welding on anything...... Always keep your ground on the base material or clamped to a grounded table. Clamping it on the brake rotor means all your current will be flowing through your bearings.In a ideal bearing situation there should always be a microscopic film of non conductive grease. You have effectively created many pits on your races and rotors. Chances are you will be fine. Just something to be mindfull of when doing these fun and amazing builds.

Potential low-average cost solution to the need for molded aluminum parts. 3D print the part your need with with PVC and just enough internal supports to make it hold its shape, 1 layer walls if you can. Put this in a solid container and plaster it with your pour spout and air channels if needed. When hardened, there are two options. A aluminum to PVC direct method. Pour in melted aluminum and let it melt and replace the PVC. Or you can melt the PVC out using a hot oven for 2-3 hours, then add aluminum. If it can be done in a vacuum chamber, then you can also prevent oxidation. Probably a professional option.

That rear wing is creating lift. You can tell by how clean it is, and the fact that you're using a softer compound tire in the rear. The wing its self needs to be above the roof line to see the air, and the cockpit needs to be more enclosed so less dirty air is hitting it. Id recommend a rear diffuser over a wing for a buggy with such extreme cockpit angles.
@drsamuelk2 жыл бұрын
Vasily puts his leg fracture behind and zooms ahead. Very inspiring. I see he has a rear diff with half shafts powering the rear wheels. This makes his ride less prone to drift while turning at high speeds. A chain driven single rear shaft is good for off road drift but is hazardous on the road.
