For most South Africans, a Braaibroodjie is a mandatory side dish at your braai. Usually two slices of bread filled with cheese, onion slices, and fresh tomatoes cooked over smokey embers. So easy to make, but also very easy to mess up.
Baking your own Artisan bread will take your braaibroodjie to a new level.

Recipe
∙ 800 grams Rib eye steaks
Artisan bread
∙ 750 ml of water
∙ 1 tablespoon sugar
∙ 20 grams instant yeast
∙ 1 tablespoon salt
∙ 3 cups/500 grams white bread flour
∙ 3 cups/500 grams cake flour
Braaibroodjie
∙ 2 slices artisanal bread (or any bread you have)
∙ 2 tablespoons fruit chutney (peach)
∙ a few onion slices
∙ ½ clove of garlic
∙ gouda and mozzarella cheese (as much as you want)
∙ 1 small tomato
∙ salt & pepper to taste
Mushroom sauce
∙ 2 tablespoons butter
∙ 1 punnet button mushrooms
∙ 1 onion
∙ 1 clove of garlic
∙ ½ cup cream
∙ salt & pepper to taste
