Love the Grandpa. I am Indian but consider myself honorary Italian (wine making connection) ! I have been making wine for the last 10 years just like this grandpa. I never used outside yeast or any chemicals. 100% natural.

Hi...I just wanted to let you know that I have been making homemade wine for 15 years. At first I used to try to make it more refined but the last 3 years, I went back to the old way of making wine. Just like my grandfather did and the way your grandfather does. Its the best tasting vino ! Since I discovered your video of your grandfather , I use it as an inspiration when I make wine. So, every year, at this time, as I am about to do the wine, I watch your video. He looks like a great man ( like my grandfather was ). Thanks for sharing this video ..Salute e a cento anni !

That's a nice-a-nice Nonno!! Best wine video I have seen. If you have never been to Italy in October and walked the purple streets as your feet stick to the uneven pavement and witnessed gutters lined with grape skins....its a "MUST" you do so. Thanks for sharing Nonno, Ciao!!

So he told me that the grape crusher and grape press was sold at the same place he buys the grapes from. If you live in Canada, I believe the supermarket Fortino's also sells it. If you are in the States, I would imagine that any place that sells the grapes would also have it. Hope this helps! PS - He also said if you are ever in Toronto that you should come on up and buy his hahaha

Thank you! I'm not sure where you can find the grape crusher, but I will ask my Nonno and get back to you. In regards to the second part of your question, no he does not use sugar or yeast. It's all natural (no chemicals/additives) so it takes some time to ferment and age but it's worth it in the end :) And yes, always keep the traditions alive! Thanks again!

+Copat87 hi, it's Frank from Naples Florida. After reading some of the comments below, I was saddened to learn that Nonno had passed away, I am so sorry for your loss. It's wonderful that you have some of his memories on film, I never met my nonno's, they had passed before I was born however, I do make all of the things that they used to make such as cheese, wine, coppa, salame and prosciutto. I hope you keep his spirit alive and continue to make all of the goodies that Nonno used to make. Maybe your children will also follow in his and your footsteps. Again, I am so sorry to hear of nonno's passing. I always enjoyed all of his videos and I can't tell you how many times I've watched them over and over. God bless Nonno and your whole family. 😞🇨🇦🇺🇸

wow! 84.. amazing good healthy man. My father also looked healthy at 83. Even though he was a soldier who was sick from radiation from an atom bomb, and so had 4 cancers, he had jet black hair, was very happy and lived to 83. He always drank red wine, and so I believe very strongly that wine keeps you healthy a long time. thankyou

use a hydrometer to know when to change out the wine. take reading at crush time and never let it go below 4 , than change to secondary fermentor . That's for beginners, I use my taste buds.

Here in Hungary some of the best wines are made. I watch the old folk make wine. Virtually no sanitation, no added yeast. I don't know, I watch Americans make wine all prissy, super sanitary all the tech. Is there a big difference?
@BillyD2872 жыл бұрын
My father in law makes wine like this and I now do the same. I was told all the impurity’s come out of the wine through fermentation and aging. We never had an issue. But the wine also wouldn’t be labeled as a high end or a more refined wine so…
