I live in South Carolina on the Georgia/SC line and we've had downpours and clearing for the last couple of hours. Our worst is supposed to be after midnight. I don't specked any problems, but I have sent my prayers up for those who are going to witness catastrophic flooding.

Many, many years ago I helped make onion rings for the fast food establishment that my father ran. We did wet dry also, however, here are the steps and ingredients: 1. Cut and chill onions in cold water 2. Remove from water and lightly toss onions in buttermilk. 3. Dredge onions in flour 4. Dredge again in buttermilk 5. Dredge onions in cornmeal. 6. Fry. The cornmeal makes the onions crispy and gives it a pretty look. We would sell at minimum 200 orders of onion rings a day. Someone was constantly making fresh. We also made them the night before and just stored them in the fridg. Just try them. I bet you'll like them.

However, we did use mayonnaise for this recipe, and that's the only thing different. This is a perfect coleslaw recipe, and I can't wait to try it. You brought back so many memories. One thing I've never learned is how to clean, gut, and cut the fish that we all caught. My papa and the guys did it al of it l, and I never learned.
