The ants will move out of the tube when 2 things happen. 1, the tube gets dirty enough that it is no longer livable. 2, they have a large enough colony to warrant needing more space. The colony isn't large enough right now to move into the nest area and the poop stains is a good thing cause it means the tube is getting nice and dirty. Since they are growing quite fast and already have sub majors they should be moving out at any time.

Great video! Btw you should start getting them used to light, gradually move the tin foil farther back each day... or just remove it completely honestly once they have this many workers the slight stress not being in darkness gives them is negligible, in fact it's way more stressful to expose them to light each time you check on them than just keeping them in light. Personally I only cover new queens that i am unfamiliar how stress tolerant they are, most species I keep them in the light from day one.

They moved to the tube because the nests are way too big for them and they need to grow first, it can be slow at the beggining, but after about 50 workers they should start to explode in size and the queen should lay dozens of eggs per week, but that can also depend on the conditions and how productive the queen is. From the beggining they eat mostly seeds, later they can eat other stuff like roaches, mealworms, crickets. They are sensitive to light and will run around like idiots. They are easy to keep, so good luck with them. And nice video im giving you 👍😂

You seem to have Messor Barbarus ants. They do not really have soldiers (soldiers do not work, just guard) but really big major-ants. They also can protect like a soldier but they also help with the work in the colony like a normal worker ant. This is much more efficient. I also have a colony with a few thousand messor barbarus-ants. I can tell you they won't care about the light anymore when you get more of them. They also love frozen (and halfed) fly-maggots. Just a tip.
