1st John Chapter 1 really speaks to who is in fellowship with Christ. When there are arguments about accepting behavior or thinking that contradicts the Bible, wouldn't that be walking in darkness? 1John says that a person who does that is not living the truth, calls God a liar, and God's Word has no place in their lives. Sounds really serious. I was thinking of how it is actually unloving to think you are loving a person by affirming behavior the Bible says is sinful and telling them they are in fellowship like everyone else . What a horrible thing to one day discover that's not true. I feel for all the people caught in the crosshairs of progressive teaching going around these days and am so grateful for God's Word.

YEs!!! I have always asked those espousing "we just need to love each other"..well what does that love look like? Lovingly proclaiming truth (even at the risk of being labeled "hateful")is simply fulfillment of what we are told in scripture.

Thank you for these episodes on issues of sexuality. As a single person, these feel like issues that are constantly in your face where faith either endures or fails, but it can be hard to find people and leaders willing to openly address them.

Absolutely. This is why every pastor should be a scholar. Any pastor w/ a firm exegetical foundation can handle this issue and communicate what the Bible says, with love. Churches need to start hiring scholars with a strong loyalty to God, over a culture. I'm a sinner too. But homosexuality can only be biblically justified by committing some serious I-segesis. Several professors in seminary reminded me of I-segesis. I'm SO grateful for that now. It doesn't matter what any of us THINK or how much we want the Bible to say something. Our investigation of scripture needs to be done w/ a goal of finding out what the Bible is really saying. And that takes a lot of honesty and humility. We have to prayerfully empty ourselves of the world's influences before we open the book.

My friend if we had more enthusiastic Christian Scholars the world would not be in the mess that we are in now. The Bible is a Myth filled with control and manipulation, a politicians handbook. You have been reading the same Fable since you were a child, whats changed....nothing, the world has only become worse. You point your fingers and say that it is this or that, but in essence the problem is you and the social club you belong to. before Science was Religion, it is time for us all to allow wisdom into our understanding. But if you insist on believing fable then I ask you only one question. Who did Pontius Pillate release from the podium, what name did the people cry out? "BARNABBAS"....Translated Bar(son) N (of) ABBAS (GOD) Jesus did not experience the Cross.

Thank for talking about this sensitive topic. Specifically in my generation (young adults) and unfortunately the culture of this thinking is coming to the church. I hope the church can do our best to show the lgbt community and let them know just because we disagree doesn’t mean we don’t love them. That has been a struggle as well for the side to be seen. I notice it’s just how they define love means to accept it and be okay of it. I have people on my life that struggle with same sex attraction and some that have grown up in the church but unfortunately went to the progressive side or left the faith all together. I hope the Lord gives us wisdom to reach out with His love to such a broken community that needs God.

Aside from the use of the word homosexual or when it was first used or whatever, Paul specifically explains exactly what he's referring to in Roman's chapter 1 and it's also specifically explained in several other books of the Bible. They specifically condemn "Men burning with lust for one another" and women doing the same and each of them exchanging their normal relationships with the opposite sex for abnormal relationships with people of the same sex.
@jonathanpowers
@jonathanpowers 2 жыл бұрын
Go back and look at those passages again. Paul is indeed specific. He's talking specifically about the unnatural practice (for anyone) of anal intercourse. And he's telling women not to exchange the natural use of their bodies for that which is unnatural. (The sentence has to make sense even if you stop reading right before the word "likewise". You can't expect the passage after the word "likewise" to inform you of what the passage before it meant; no one writes like that.) In Romans 1, Paul is referring to the men who "leave" the natural use of the woman and have unnatural intercourse with men; these are the heterosexual pederasts in Rome (and ancient Greece, etc.) Homosexuals don't "turn from" or "leave" the use of a woman; they have no attraction to women at all from birth (see Matthew 19:11-12). Fortunately, homosexual relationships need have nothing to do with sodomy. Most homosexuals find the practice disgusting and unnatural. Many more would come around to that viewpoint if the church condemned the practice specifically instead of calling it "homosexuality" and thinking that the terms are synonymous. I'm afraid that Satan has confused both sides on this issue, creating huge rifts in the church and hastening the growth of "progressive" Christianity.

I've not watched the video yet but just answering the question posed in the title. My feeling is if you pick and choose ANY instruction in the scripture you should walk to the nearest trashcan and toss your Bible, walkaway and stop pretending to be a Christian. Without the the Word anything you believe, follow, etc springs from your imagined version of God. Period.

Now the progressives actually are saying that if your marriage is unpleasant then you shouldn't feel obligated to stay in it. They probably are going to apply the idea Alan talked about that "any sort of pain = bad fruit" across the board. Why wouldn't they? Feelings are the only thing that matters to them and the only source of authority.

God bless you Alisa for promoting the truth of the word of God. Many churches have become lukewarm on this subject, causing division. We must be true to God’s word, which never changes. Many of us have relatives who identify as gay or transgender. We are to love them, without approving of their lifestyle. This is a very tough subject which requires prayer and guidance. Progressive churches are deceiving many by promoting a watered down version of the Bible.

the truth If you are gay or know someone who is, this is important information! Sexual orientation is determined in the womb during fetus development. Various hormones are introduced at specific times to accomplish this .The fetus plays no part in this process. A person is, therefore, born with a predetermined attraction. It is, therefore, not a choice & consequently not a sin & not immoral. It is a natural expression of mammals & found commonplace in nature. Intelligent research in this area clearly explains this process. If you are truly interested in truth, based on knowledge, the book Gay, Straight & the Reason Why by Dr. Simon Levay shows this with numerous research articles. If you want to understand the truth & have respect for yourself & others this book will help. It also has, unlike the bible written over 2000 years ago by goat herders, an extensive bibliography. I strongly recommend the book. Don’t let the religious pull you down to their level of ignorance. Peace

Even though I believe lying and stealing is a sin and is wrong, I still care for and have relationships with people who have lied and stolen something. I’m not “afraid” of them. I’m not liesophobic or Kleptophobic. God’s word describes sinful behavior. God’s word says lying and stealing, is wrong. I believe lying and stealing is wrong and we should strive to be honest and without sin. God’s word tells us that sex of any sort outside of marriage is a sin and is wrong. This includes sex when not married, adultery and homosexuality. I still care for and have relationships with people who do these things. I’m not “afraid” of them. To be called homophobic when you believe God’s word is clear about being sexually pure places those that “label” you as such in danger of maligning your character.

We then strive to live as as Him while in this flesh,both seeing two choices . Right or unright . . Each one shows us something of God . We have free will to choose what God tells us will get us there or go a way opposite of God. ..one way leads to separation of God other to fellowship with God . ..this is one way to understand the rejection of the acts ,we are all guilty of and to love or care for the person . . Christians should be honest about their criticism. Ten Commandments say nothing directly about being gay. And the Bible barely mentions it. Seems to me if it was a sin so egregious it would be mentioned prominently. Yet people treat adultery, lies and other commandments with far less condemnation. And often without any consideration. And sometimes even celebration.

Hebrew 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him. How must we approach God who is an all consuming fire🔥 Psalm 15:1-5 Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the Lord, and keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who lend money without charging interest and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever. John 3:3-5 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Hebrew 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even as far as the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrows, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Any doctrine of faith or morals that has been held by 90%+ of all the faithful practicing Christians in a Christian country, in more than 75% of all the centuries since the Ascension, simply MUST be true. If it were not, then Christ would have failed of His promises to "lead us into all truth" and not to "leave us orphans." It would mean that The Church was not, as Paul claimed, the Pillar and Bulwark of Truth. It would be nonsensical to claim, as Christians always have, that the content of their religion was "divinely-revealed truth," and simultaneously admit that God did such a piss-poor job of guarding His revelation from fundamental misunderstanding! One could not hold such a view, and still have any rational basis for thinking that other more-hotly-contested topics, like the Trinity and the two natures of Christ and the canon of the New Testament, could be known with any certainty. So, if we held that "Oh, gee, my mistake; sodomy is morally laudable after all..." then we could have no principled reason for claiming certainty about any important details of the content of the Christian religion. It would make the content of the Christian religion fundamentally unknowable...a dubious thing, now lost in the mists of time, to be guessed at by modern "reconstructors" on the basis of insufficient data and under-determined historical research. It would mean, in every meaningful sense, that the Gates of Hades had prevailed against the Church. It would, in short, falsify the notion that the Holy Spirit was at work in the lives of Christians for the last 2,000 years. It would mean Christ could not keep his promises, and therefore was not God. But He is God. Therefore, we cannot hold that 90%+ of all the faithful practicing Christians, in every time and place, have been just plain bass-ackwards wrong about a moral doctrine like the intrinsic wickedness of two same-sexed persons mutually stimulating their genitals so as to pervert the telos of the pleasures produced by exercising the human procreative powers. Holding such a view LOGICALLY REQUIRES denying Christianity. The only reason that people who hold such a view DON'T uniformly deny Christianity is because such folk mostly don't give a rat's sphincter about being logically consistent. So, how should we approach persons who hold that view? Well, they should be excluded from teaching-roles on any topic involving matters of faith, morals, or critical thinking, wherever we have the power to deny them such positions. We should correctly identify their beliefs as "similar to Christianity, but not fundamentally coherent with Christianity." And we should recognize that when they teach their views to others, they do not merely undermine the faith, but they act as stumbling-blocks and tempters, encouraging others not to repent of sins, leading to their likely damnation. It is not a small matter. It is not an "agree to disagree" kind of matter. So, yes, OF COURSE Christians should "divide" on such topics. It was for such purposes (among others) that Christ gave us the Church Discipline process in Matthew Chapter 18. Persons with such views, if they will not be dissuaded, even after many appeals, should be treated "as a heathen or a tax collector," until and unless they repent. The Apostle Paul dealt with a man in Corinth (see 1 Corinthians 5) who, no doubt, was of the opinion it was not sexually immoral for him to become sexually involved with his stepmother. Paul gave the correct model for handling such persons: He was expelled from fellowship, his body "delivered up to Satan" in the hopes of the salvation of his soul. (When the man repented, he was readmitted to fellowship.) That, friends, is the Biblical pattern.

It will be tough but the resort comes after the gym! Itll all pay off in the end. But you also have hope in this life. We have come to understand as a society that relationships, sex and marriage is the peak of life when it is so far from the truth. God can radically change lives and bring joy to the worst of them. Set your focus and love to Jesus. Dont ignore love or put it aside, but redirect it to the One who gave it. I pray for so much mercy from Christ in your life and that you can fervently give your life to God with no distractions and find a deep sense of love and community that goes far beyond a romantic relationship. God knows even those are deeply difficult! :)

It's something that I prayed about to God and he changed my want. He will redeem you with a true prayer. He hears it all. He knows what your struggling with. I would genuinely suggest that a simple outcry to God would and can change your desires. You cannot buy into the various lies that are called "our culture." God changes people on the daily because they genuinely want to be right with Him. I would also suggest (out of pure love) to ask yourself.....where did it start? What attracted you, if anything? The answer could certainly be, nothing that you recollect but I would challenge you to dig deep and see if it's a suggestion of the world. I have a very close family member that I LOVE deeply that identities as gay. My mind continually goes back to a time in her life where she was abused horribly by a male relative when she was very small. This happened over and over and she was not protected by her parent. The parent was even molested by this person, yet the parent still allowed her daughter to be around this abuser. I can see, in this circumstance why my loved one is completely turned off sexually by the opposite sex. Its easier for her to go with our worldly culture that "love is love," than to uncover why she feels that attraction and to genuinely turn to God for healing. I will tell you this, Evan....I love you so much and I don't even know you. Your comment is truthful, genuine and very transparent. God will ALWAYS give you a way out of any temptation. As I pray and read/study scripture, having issues with translations that may or may not be same as the root language that it was written, the Old vs. New Testament, knowing male/female homosexuals who desperately can not change their innate (?) drives, I choose not to judge, pray for them, thankful for this discussion.

I think, it's about re-framing things for lgbt individuals. On our own, without Christ, we seek meaning, belonging, and comfort. We often take our identity, and the actions we do, and turn it into everything. Our identity. Our Identity becomes our actions, and we end up trying to make sure this identity is always affirmed. Problem is, this shouldn't happen if our identity is worldly. Worldly things have no value and will never help us or save us. We shouldn't take our actions and desires and turn it into an identity that needs to be affirmed at all times. You think of it this way.....if you regularly pick your nose, you openly identify as a nose picker, and embrace nose picking and other nose pickers, what are you doing? You're completely embracing an action, identifying with it, and giving it power over you. Now, this identity is part of you and must be affirmed. You shouldn't do that.....especially with nose picking.

I have listened to a few of these Childers podcasts and I appreciate the tone and the subject matter. If homosexuality in the Christian Bible is a prohibition against that particular _act_ and not the _desire_ to engage in it, doesn't the line of reasoning described in the Sermon on the Mount expand to prohibit the _desire_ as well? My point is that I agree with the reasoning, and the need, to distinguish between 1) action and 2) the _desire for action,_ which is why it seems to me that the type of reasoning in the Sermon on the Mount is incompatible with the human experience. In other words, as a _baseline_ God demands correct behavior _only,_ and were a person to stop there He would be perfectly satisfied with it. Only for those who choose to try to go above and beyond does He expect more. The Sermon on the Mount seems to turn "above-and-beyond" into the standard, which doesn't seem right. I am an Orthodox Jew, and please don't take me as a "hater" of Christianity, for I am not and actually have a great deal of respect for your faith. I do, however, observe a real practical issue with the point that I stated above and am wondering if any Christians here have pondered this point as well.
@sonofblessed
@sonofblessed 3 жыл бұрын
@Moris Blackborn Thanks for the response. I'm having a hard time understanding the difference between 1) temptation and 2) lusting (in the mind), or fantasizing. It is different because the prohibition against homosexuality in the Torah is against performing the _deed_ of homosexuality, but not against having homosexual thoughts in your head or heart. Of course, this doesn't mean that the Torah considers it okay to have those feelings, and in the ideal sense it is better not to, but it only holds you accountable in terms of a _transgression_ for acting out that desire. Case-in-point: the Torah says not to consume the flesh of a pig. If I, as a Jew, have a desire to eat pork I am not in violation of this commandment. However, having this desire may _lead_ me to violating it, and therefore it's a very good idea to work on that craving, but which is not expressed as a transgression in-and-of-itself. Eliminating sin in this life is impossible. This is true whether you define sin as _lusting_ for sin or as actually _committing_ one. Either way this is a moot point because nowhere in the Tanakh does God indicate that He expects perfection in terms of sinlessness. Proverbs 24:16 says, "For a righteous man can fall seven times and rise..." If "fall" means "sin" in this verse, how is the Torah calling him "righteous" if he has fallen, and _seven_ times? Apparently having sinned does not exclude one from righteousness, which according to my understanding goes against how Christians understand the definition of "righteousness." And in case you mention Genesis 15:6: _And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him as righteousness._ He was righteous for believing that God would provide him a son from Sarah against all odds, _not_ that his belief in God, at the exclusion of his actions, made him righteous. For example, recall that God praised Abraham for going through with the command to sacrifice Isaac, which is an action and not just a belief in God, and he was considered righteous for it.
@sonofblessed
@sonofblessed 3 жыл бұрын
@Moris Blackborn "I would argue in the case of Abraham, that his willingness to go through with God's orders with Isaac was BECAUSE he believed." I would hope so, because we certainly don't believe that he went through with it without believing in God! Is that what Christians think that Jews believe? To disqualify the element of action from obedience is to misunderstand what obedience is. _Obviously_ obedience is rooted in faith, but to have faith without following through is not what God is asking for. See Deuteronomy 6:18: _And _*_you shall do_*_ what is proper and good in the eyes of the Lord, in order that it may be well with you..._ _Of course_ doing what God asks is rooted in faith in Him, but He asks for action, not just faith. Imagine planting a seed that never grew into a plant, or speaking of your love for your wife but never expressing it tangibly. I would take this even further; not only do you need deeds to express faith, but unexpressed faith eventually dies. In other words, deeds preserve faith. If you think about it, a great deal of the interaction between God and Abraham is accurately described as Abraham following God's instructions. This starts in Genesis 12:1-4 and continues on for the rest of his life. In fact, read in context, God recognizes and assigns praise to Abraham's obedience. What is your view on what I said regarding that I do not violate the prohibition against eating pork by experiencing a temptation for it, and how do you understand Proverbs 24:16?
@sonofblessed
@sonofblessed 3 жыл бұрын
@Moris Blackborn "Abraham was far from a perfect man, and he certainly was not always obedient to God, as we know. It was his faith that saved him. Nothing else.' How do we know that it was Abraham's _faith_ that saved him, but not God's _mercy_ that saved him? Does God have mercy on the faithless?

@Moris Blackborn Didn't we just talk about Genesis 15:6? If you read the context of that verse you'll see that the _faith_ that it refers to is _not_ a theological statement that places faith over works, but a reference to Abraham's faith that God would give him a son through Sarah (and not Hagar)... The words of the verse that you quoted say it clearly, "Abraham believed the Lord...," he believed what God said He would do. As I said, throughout Abraham's entire narrative, God gives him particular instructions and praises him for heeding them. If you want to have a serious conversation with me (which you are certainly not obligated to) then you cannot quote from Christian Scriptures as a way to convince me of anything. You'll have to stay in the Jewish Scriptures...

This is one of the issues on which I find myself very disappointed with some Christians.. I believe that what Alisa mentions at 34 minutes or so in is exactly right. For me to be a Christian and for my faith to be genuine I need to ask philisophical questions about the nature of God, questions which the Bible itself is not there to answer. So one of those questions is `what kind of a God would God be?` If God gave us intellect, and I believe he did, then my intellect tells me that the God of the New Testament that I truly believe in would not deem homosexuality a sin. This is because with the intellect we have been given we can say with certainty that being homosexual is not a choice, it is embedded in the psychological and physiological nature of those people. Also, I am forced to ask the question: `Can the Bible contain inerrancy and still contain absolute truths about revelation?` Any serious intellectual grappling with this question must surely lead you to answer `yes`. I do not believe that everything in the Old Testament was divinely inspired. And it is in The Old Testament that we find some of the most explicit condemnation of same sex acts. I can hold this as not divinely inspired and still take the claims of Christ`s death and ressurection as literal truth, which I do. Lastly, I am forced to ask myself `Does the New Testament make metaphysical claims?` and I find that yes it does. Do I believe those claims? I do. But those claims apply to Christ and Christ alone. NOT to Paul. So I can take much of Paul`s teachings as sound basis for actual truths and values that I uphold and I can still believe that he was wrong in some area. Simply put, one can believe that intellectually, philosophically and biblically that Paul`s position on homosexual practices can be wrong.

Yes the Bible says participation in such acts is sin. Can we as Christians condemn sinners? No, Jesus said “love thy neighbor” “turn the other cheek” and “bless your enemy”. So we don’t try to control them with arguing about this topic, we demonstrate our love for Christ by our actions. That’s what plants the seed! That’s true evangelism! @@dan69052 even IF that is true, it’s no different than saying someone can be born with a natural attraction towards children, or their brother, or naturally is easily angered/has a temper that causes them to act out, or naturally has an addictive personality so they are addicted to sex, or drinking, or drugs or even someone who just naturally has difficulty committing to one partner and they commit adultery, etc etc. The list could go on and on. The world has a sin nature. All of us have it in our own ways with whatever sins we struggle with. They were ALL paid for by Jesus. Every single one of them. Anything not of faith is sin. We can’t say something isn’t sin just because we believe the person has natural tendencies towards it. It’s not a sin to be attracted. The sin comes in when someone acts on it or marries someone of the same sex when God was specific that marriage is between a man and woman. But even IF someone commits these sins, they are just as loved by God, just as forgiven by God, and just as redeemable by God IF they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. All we have to do is turn to Him and He will help them with all those struggles. But we’re saved by what He did, not by what we do. Ps...not all the authors of scripture were “goat herders”. That is just plain ignorance and trying to be condescending to our Word of God which isn’t cool. Luke was a Physician and Matthew was a Tax Collector. Peter was a fisherman. Among others. God bless.

I think when some people think love, they think it means letting a person do whatever they want. In the Bible, Jesus demonstrates love in many ways, including correction. If you believed that someone was living in sin, (unknowingly or knowingly) and that their sin could lead them to eternal punishment, it would actually be incredibly unloving to know the truth and not share it with them. This isn't to say some take an unloving approach to this issue, that is a different conversation. However, to correct someone isn't unloving, in fact it shows a great love. Many people face criticism for their views on homesexuality, and for people to understand the very unpopular views the Bible holds with contrast to the world yet still seek to share that truth with others, (potentially sacrificing social reputations and careers) they must really love you.

Remember that God gave them up to a reprobate minds to do things that are against nature NOT as a blessing but because they refuse to acknowledge God! Anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their personal saviour CANNOT think that being gay or homosexual is right before God! Neither can they be struggling with that! It's like a Christian doubting God's Creation! It's telling Jesus that His Father is a liar about creating male and female. Accepting Jesus is not mere words or confession in a church. It's accepting Jesus'teachings which includes that of His Father. Not believing them is rejecting Jesus. It's all or nothing! Their are seems like lying, stealing, robbing, blasphemy, deceiving, killing, etc. All these are ACTIVITIES or ACTIONS that one chooses TO DO. Homosexuality or being gay is a decision or belief TO BE what one is not. The sexual activities and behaviors are a fruit of that BELIEF of BEING what you're not. A man or male created by God is always a man or male. God is the one who gives our identity. Can God gives us the identity of homosexuals? If not whom? An atheist is a person with a BELIEF system that is not in harmony with biblical values. However, an atheist can do all good things and have values and proper behaviors like the very best of us. An atheist is sincere in that he don't try to be nor behave like a Christian. A homosexual is a belief that runs contrary to Christ, the Bible and God! The Bible says homosexuality. Trying to modify it is not an excuse. Homosexuality has to do with same sex irrespective their is sex involved. It has to do with 'afeminate' behaviors. Why I should a man tell God and Christ that they made a mistake by creating a woman in a man's body? Trinity is not in the Bible. Homosexuality and affeminate behavior is in the Bible. This podcast seeks to undermine the Bible. Now, it's reinterpreting the Bible to suit their agenda. I refuse anymore from this channel.

So sex is a sin...unless you meet criteria a-z? Name any other thing that is a sin until you meet a bunch of hurdles. And does being gay or in a gay relationship change what Jesus did or who Jesus is? No wonder people leave, you want nothing to do with anyone who disagrees with you. So you are justifying suicide and abandonment as good fruit.

This just simply isn’t true. It isn’t about who disagrees with her or her guest. It’s about doing things that disagree with the word of god. The Bible says homosexuality is a sin. Sex in itself isn’t a sin. It’s the way we create life. Lust and immorality that come with sexual desire is a sin. The bottom line is if you believe the Bible and have salvation through Jesus you can’t support homosexuality because to support that would be to say you didn’t believe what the Bible says to be true. Now does that mean be cruel to them? Absolutely not. I have family and friends that are homosexual. I don’t treat them with disrespect or disdain. That doesn’t mean I have to support them. I would also tell them in a heartbeat if they asked me if what they were doing is wrong that if they didn’t repent and change their life they wouldn’t make it into gods kingdom.

I believe the persecution of all sinners ended with Christ's death on the cross and Christ's refusal to stone the woman taken in adultery. Nowhere does the Bible give us the authority to run other people's lives, even sinners, even homosexuals. I am at a loss to understand why the Church tolerates adultery among believers and sexual spiritual abuse by pastors, but continues to thump gays as if they were the last sinners on earth.

According to this video, everyone is a sinner that isn't waiting until marriage to have intimate relations with their partner and yet....you are focused on homosexuals as the sinner. The "good" fruit and "bad" fruit is one of many concepts in the Bible that could be interpreted in so many different ways. A "good" person can be homosexual. A "good" person can also be a heterosexual person in a long-term relationship and living with their partner. We aren't all "bad" people sowing "bad" fruit all around. This message is dangerous and provides so much restriction that it will turn people away from God instead of towards Him.

Here is the bottom line... homosexuals do NOT have to be christians if they do not WANT. It is not a mandatory condition to be a citizen in good standind or to be protected by the laws of our nation. Being a christian is a voluntary state in which even the current christians can leave if desired. Christianity has its requirements, one of those is that you can not contineously live in sin. God tells you what those are. If those requirements seem too hard or drastic then do not belong, you would not be happy there anyways. It is not what pleases us, but rather what pleases God.

The church was a Christ centered, loving church and helped me incredibly so in my walk as a Christian, the bible study the best I've ever been connected to. I support same sex marriage in that in the midst of love and monogamy, and the Pastor was pivotal in helping me through Christ a multitude of times.

Are you against birth via Caesarian section? What about the NICU technology which saves lives born prematurely? Should they have let those babies die? If a straight couple is unable to conceive, should they be discouraged from exploring fertility treatments or potential surrogacy? Respectfully, your message proves that real-life experiences of love, warmth, community and humanity have altered your beliefs regarding traditional Christian values. This means the desired benefits of faith are absolutely possible outside of the intolerant and judgmental preconceived beliefs traditional Christianity has so fiercely defended. I appreciate you sharing your own story and I don’t mean to infer you yourself are part of that intolerant group.
