Yeah I finally convinced the wife to let me get a motorcycle and was able to pick up the 2021 cb300r about a month ago, first time riding a street bike and first time riding a motorcycle in almost 10 years. I was 14/15 at the time. I was riding solid in about a week and have been enjoying riding since. I finally convinced my wife a month later to hop on the cb300r in a parking lot and within 30 mins she was riding and wanting a bike. Now she's looking at the rebels due to the simular engine and color but also the seat hight! Short story of how I ended up here lol.
@HondaProKevin3 жыл бұрын
lol love the story man, thanks for sharing! These are the kinds of things I miss when it comes to selling motorcycles. If she hopped on the CB300R and was riding it with no problems, she'll be smoking you up the mountain on the Rebel in no time! The CB300R is super easy to ride but the Rebel 300 is even easier if that's possible lol. Congrats again on your CB300R and best of luck with getting the wifey on 2 wheels too! Ride safe out there and keep me posted when she finally gets her hands on one too.

I think this was the best video on the Rebel 300. Looks like the darn thing can run forever with almost zero maintenance along with nearly 80 mpg. I really wanted a 500 to upgrade from the Rebel 250, but the 300 probably has the little bit I am looking for more than my 250, which is a sixth gear and zero vibrations between 60-70 mph. My Rebel 250 will travel at those speeds, but my hands and feet go numb, and the vibrations at those speeds is actually walking the nuts and bolts off the bike.
@HondaProKevin3 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud, really appreciate the kind words! Oh yeah, these engines have been bulletproof so far and definitely smoother than the twin in the 250 so you won't have to worry about those vibrations driving you crazy. Plus the fuel injection and that 6th gear will spoil you quick lol!

Impressive machine. Thank you for posting this video. Ever since I graduated the motorcycle course, people have consistently suggested a Honda Rebel as my first bike. (Since I like the riding position and style of cruisers not sport bikes) I thought that the only choice was a 250cc. Just knowing that a 300 and 500 exist has really gotten me excited again. Must learn more!
@HondaProKevin3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Oh yeah, the new Rebel 300 & 500 models are definitely worth checking out and a massive upgrade from the old Rebel 250 if you're wanting to stick with a cruiser style bike. Bang for the buck and ease of riding makes them hard to beat in my opinion, plus the aftermarket is huge for these bikes if you like to modify your toys.

I just purchased a 2021 300 in blue. It's a great looking bike and fits my needs for the few months I'm living in Florida (I have a CTX700 in NY). I'm not a new rider (45 years of riding everything from a 175cc dirt bike to a 1600cc HD Streetbob) but arthritis in my knees and shoulders has reduced the number of options I can comfortable handle. In my opinion the ONLY reason to buy the 300 over the 500 is price. Both bikes are very easy to handle, neither is overpowering so unless saving the $2000 is important to you go for the 500.
@thenewseorarek96253 жыл бұрын
Honestly i think this is one of the best looking bikes on the market, and while the matte black looks amazing, i think honda should offer more color options so people dont have to take it somewhere to get it painted the color they want. The blue on the 2021 Rebel 300 is the best looking color out of the 2021 lineup (I absolutely hate the white and grey options on the 500). I currently have a blue 2009 Rebel 250, which I put 6K miles on (it's at 15K miles now) and is starting to vibrate itself to death. Last year the license plate bracket fell off on a ride, had to be replace (along with the license plate). Last week, one of the exhaust flanges came off (header bolts are fine), but the bolts walked themselves off and lost the exhaust flange collars and exhaust bolts, ordered from Honda, and looks like it will be a week to week and a half before I am back on the road again. I wish I had the money for a new bike, because even a Rebel 300 would be better than my current situation.

Oh yeah, 100%! This replaced the Rebel 250 that was widely considered the best first bike on the planet and that's why so many MSF courses adopted them over the years. Would this be an ideal starter bike or would someone out grow it quick ?
@HondaProKevin3 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, this is 100% an ideal starter bike. On outgrowing it quickly, that all depends on the person and their mindset. I've had people buy these and ride them for years and they could care less about moving up but then I've had people come back and say they want more. This happens with all bikes though whether it be a 300, 500, 600, 750, 1000 etc. It all just depends on you and what makes you happy out of a bike, if it's just sheer acceleration or something else... Long story short, it's a great starter bike and the other question is a difficult one to answer lol ;)

I’ll never understand why companies decide not to offer a shit ton of colors. It doesn’t cost anything extra to add different colors at the factory, and honestly they would sell a shot ton more of these things if they had a boatload of colors. I know a bunch of people that will or won’t buy a bike SOLELY based off of color, options, and how customizable the bike itself it. The Rebel 300/500 is set up to be super customizable, yet almost no one is making kick ass mods for it. If you want cool mods you have to go to eBay or Amazon, and a lot of the quality isn’t there on those products. I like bikes that I can go from a standard cruiser to a bobber, then overnight turn that bobber into a dope ass touring bike with bolt one, ya know. Like giant Fairings, speakers, windshield, driver backrest, huge rigid bags, floor boards, and the ability to move the foot controls forward.

I can’t decide between 300 and 500
@HondaProKevin3 жыл бұрын
That's definitely a difficult one to decide on and I've had many customers over the years have difficulties pulling the trigger on one over the other. It could be an hour long conversation on the topic but in short, if you are the type of person that enjoys performance. If you enjoy getting in a car and having it pull you back in the seat or if you have motorcycle experience and you enjoy that acceleration feeling, I would lean towards the 500. If you're the type of person that just wants to ride and go from point A to point B and you don't really care about performance like that, I would lean towards the 300. There's a pretty significant performance difference between the two and if possible, I would highly recommend you ride them both back to back. One last thing, I've had people buy the 300 and wish they would have gotten the 500 but I have yet to see someone buy the 500 and say they wish they would have bought the 300 lol. Hope that helps bud ;)

Why give color options if the majority is going to mod and paint it anyways. 🤷🏻♂️
@HondaProKevin3 жыл бұрын
The vast majority of people from my years in the industry do not pony up and pay to have their bike repainted. Modify, oh yeah but not that many aside from the super small group that really customize their bikes but they are few and far between when compared to your normal bike owner that doesn't want to fool with going through all of that, nor do they want to foot the $$ bill to have it done - properly lol.
@pd1jdw6303 жыл бұрын
@@HondaProKevin Perhaps when it downstream into the secondhand market. But I think you’re right. If I would buy this new I would not try and modify it. But I do think Honda goes for the Ford concept. “You can have it in any color…” Then again, I’m not a sails man. So I trust your word for it.

So I’ve been wanting to get 500 ABS SE but I’m unsure now, if I’m a taller rider is there a way to adjust it? I wanna get my first bike but I also don’t wanna look silly on it too lol
@HondaProKevin3 жыл бұрын
Sadly, there's no real adjustments when stock but you can always play around with different handlebar setups and forward controls to see if that might help. How tall are you?

What they desperately need to change is that horrible instrument cluster, horrible rear light, and too hard seat. And ABS is obligated in europe since 2013, no idea why that is still an option there.
