The sound creates the impression of being in an upstairs room in a house while somebody is playing the piano in a room downstairs. Enchanting !!

I'm very curious where whoever clandestinely recorded this wonderful concert was sitting. I heard that Horowitz was a wizard with acoustics in that he made the sound cover the hall; go out in all directions. I would be amazed if the recorder was sitting in the mezzanine of the old Eastman Theatre! The sound typically was muffled in that section because of it being sort of sandwiched against the top balcony.

I've always liked the way he played the Chopin F minor Ballade. Quite a bit of a different perspective than the first Ballade, which could be frantic at times.

Hi Eugene, the names of the pieces are given in the description of the KZbin. I don't have time to do the timings right now - am preparing more of my Horowitz recording holdings to post on KZbin. Maybe you could do the timings. Thanks.
