There is actually a theory out there that since there was so much relative marriages out in ainceint (I know that I didn't spell that correctly) Egypt, that it's the reason why king tut died. All of his genetic abnormalities
@magpiesky887511 жыл бұрын
Ay was actually just an advisor, he had no relation to the royal family other than maybe being a distant cousin. And after he married ankhesenamun (Mrs. Tut) she disappeared from history. Shortly afterward ay died, leaving the country under the control of a military general, now pharaoh Horemheb

@@AccidentalNinja ....King Tutankhamen died from illness caused by inbreeding. He didn't have a broken leg. He had a clubbed foot and a scoliosis of the spine. His other foot was flat-footed. He also had a cleft palate and the worst strain (on several occasions) of malaria. He died likely from an associated illness.

@aquatera38154 жыл бұрын
@@waterbaby8360 I remember watching a show either on History channel or National Geographic that explored his death, from their research and examination of his mummy, they concluded that the death might have been caused by an actual accident, the injuries from which were made worse by Tut's generaly poor health condition. Tut's funeral was a hurried afair, since the king was young and was not expected to die so soon, they did not prepare properly for his final burial. He was placed in a tomb that was not originally made for him, the famous golden funeral mask that was placed on his mummy belonged to some other female relative originally, scholars speculate it was Nefertiti's, his own mother. That show aired only a few years ago, so the research is still relatively up to date.

@chainsawgood123, if you look back through the pictorial record they mark 'Egyptians' in art as a certain skin tone and non-Egyptians as the other skin tones. There is even pictorial evidence of Nubians who became 'Egyptians' being represented as 'Egyptian skin toned' rather than what they actually looked like as far as pigment is concerned. True Egyptians were darker than today's Arabs but apart from one well set dynasty they weren't 'black' as we'd term it today.

@fomoran who marks the Egyptians and Non-Egyptians as other skin tones. Keep in mind Egypt itself is a Greek name. The people called their home Kemet (black) and were negroid. They began as one of Nubia's colonies. Herodotus the father of "history" comments in this as well.
@Sacchari12 жыл бұрын
Or maybe it's the fact that so much of the records have been destroyed, either on purpose or just by the ravages of time, that we have a really weak grasp on EVERYTHING that happened back then. A good chunk of ancient Egyptian history is simply guesswork that changes radically every time some new piece of information is unearthed.

Nefertiti was not Tut's sister. She was his mother. Also the video spells pharaoh wrong.
@mariahammarstrom79349 жыл бұрын
WynterSongs No, Nefertiti was Tut's stepmother. His mother was Kiya, one of Akhenaten's minor wives. Nefertiti was the mother of Ankensenpaaten, Tut's half-sister, whom he married. Before she married Tut, she had already been married to their father Akhenaten and their oldest brother Smenkhare. When her grandfather Ay murdered Tut, he forced her to marry him instead.

+Maria Hammarstrom - Actually, they've studied Tut's DNA- his parents were apparently full siblings (which explains a lot of the medical issues his remains indicated) - the Younger Lady was his mother, the Elder Lady (found with her) was Tiye (matched from a lock of hair found in Tut's tomb); we don't know which of Akhenaten's sisters it was- the two/ three eldest sisters disappear from the records by/ after their father's death, & are never mentioned at Amarna, but he apparently had up to 8 sisters, though only 4/ 5 (Sitamun, Iset, Henuttaneb, Nebetah & Beketaten/ Baketamun) are really mentioned with any kind of frequency- & the last is questionable; she is sometimes described as the youngest daughter of Amenhotep III & Tiye, but at others, called a daughter of Akhenaten & Kiya (born Tadukhipa/ Tadu-Hepa, a Mitanni princess who was briefly married to Amenhotep III- however, unlike the Spike TV mini-series says, it's not in Africa, but rather the Middle East; indicated to be north of Babylon, but south of the Hittites). Tut's eldest half-sister, Meritaten was apparently married to Smenkhkare, who was either her half-brother, or half-uncle (being born to Amenhotep III, by Tadu-Hepa). Meketaten died Yr 13/14, possibly of illness, or childbirth complications (there are 2 interpretations for the wall carvings found); the father being Akhenaten. This was the first 'mainstream' mention I'd heard about Ankhe being married to Akhenaten, which kind of impressed me. I get why most people don't know about what was going on in this period- even professionals are uncertain- & I'm not anything close to a professional, but I love ancient history & especially Egyptology - after Yr 10, the record gets more than a bit fuzzy. It's believed by some, that Smenkhkare didn't have an independent rule, only being a co-ruler, within Akhenaten's later reign. The question of the female Pharaoh Neferneferuaten is genuinely confusing; Nefertiti took the name- in Yr 5, I think- & in like Yr 8/ 9, she had a daughter named Neferneferuaten Ta-Sherit, the latter part meaning 'The Younger' or 'Jnr'- as it did for the two princesses apparently born in the last 2-3 years of Akhenaten's reign, & named for Merit & Ankhe; they were borne by one or both of the girls (there is also a theory they were 'fictional', designed to replace the daughter of Kiya, after her death/ disgrace) - some evidence has emerged that Nefertiti did not die around Yr 14, as previously believed- that indicates she may have only been banished, later returning to power- possibly later becoming 'effective for her husband', as the epithet of the pharaoh says. Others think it may have been Merit, taking the name (because of a theory that the younger princess of that name, would perhaps not be old enough to rule effectively- up to 3 years or so), whereas Merit would be in her mid-late teens. Ankhe was about 3-4 years older than Tut, but all their siblings predeceased their ascension; they apparently abandoned Amarna within Tut's 2nd Yr, which is when they changed their names from Tutankhaten & Ankhesenpaaten. As to the Zannanza-gate; again, I can only state that there are issues of timing- this could have potentially happened earlier, in the time of the female pharaoh- I won't go into the details - however, Ankhe did marry Ay (though, there are questions of how, or if he's related to Nefertiti's family), but she's not mentioned as his queen outside of the ring that was found. Apparently, Amarna was left to waste, presumably forgotten, til sometime into Horemheb's reign, when it was plundered for 'infill', for lack of a better term when he wanted to build - & the rest was left to disappear in the desert... sorry for the long-a*** ramble, lol - it is a problem.
@Mkoivuka11 жыл бұрын
You forgot the part where the sister-stepmother-wife tried to marry the son of Egypt's greatest enemy at the time, the King of Hattusha, in an effort to unite the two empires. This would have made the sister-stepmother-wife of King Tut. As the Prince was killed upon entering Egypt, a war was declared and the Hittites ravaged much of Egypt's eastern borders!
@dog_bones_23214 жыл бұрын
So tuts wife is tuts sister and step mum and is also uncle ays granddaughter so my theory is that ay is tuts uncle through one of his parents and then marries his mum has a child with them which then marries tuts dad which then gives them tuts wife and tut but she dies and tuts wife marries his dad. I think this makes sense but not sure
