I rescued a 16.2 Hanoverian off a slaughter truck. She was 18, terrified and freaked out. I found her history and it turned out a kid fell off, because she was way over horsed, and the father sent her to auction. They’d paid 5 figures for her. Crazy. But shes a healthy and happy 33 year old now.

@@JorrynOlsen guessing you're talking about a foal - check out Free Spirit Equestrian as she's new with foals, but has one that was born there and got another 5 month old foal at auction. She works closely with her vet and her farrier - Should be very helpful. Any horses with behavioral issues - check out Steve Young. Both are very positive and Steve always says pain is the worst motivator. Hope that helps.

So do I. There's something about him! It breaks my heart that people have obviously been watching him be so uncomfortable in his mouth for years without bothering to do anything about it. Clearly he's never had his teeth floated regularly or that enormous premolar wouldn't be there.

@@Hadraniel94 molars can be pulled but probably better to avoid it as the other teeth can shift. Whatever can be done for that guy, it’s going to be a big job and require a LOT of maintenance

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Vet Nancy! She is loving and willing to go the distance for these animals. But, if she knows they cant get better no matter how much wk/resources, she has no qualm in putting them over the rainbow bridge. No used to drag them thru all that. At first it seemed like she was doing that a lot. The luck of the draw for Vet Nancy and many thought she was just to quick to give the last act of kindness. She is full of love, very thorough but very pragmatic at the same time. I for one appreciate that! Thx V Nancy!❤

My dad worked his horses per 6 per team in the oilfield back when. He had 18 horses & when I was born in 1941 & we had 17 horses out on pasture all worked their hearts out for him & he made sure they had a good retirement. We buried them in our family cemetery in a section of their own all 18. Me my children grandchildren & greatgrand children all clean the cemetery every spring we have Dinner on the ground & have a ceremony for all my greatgrand parents on both sides as well as my parents are buried there I'm 81 & remember every year doing this ❤

So glad you are there to take these poor old horses out of this round about of going from auction to auction. So sad, that these old horses are being put through this rather than being put down by their owners. When you take on guardianship of any animal relieving their suffering when they get old or too sick is your final responsibility. I have seen other sites where rescues try to keep animals going that should be relieved of their suffering and I think sometimes they do it just to get more donations. Thank you for doing the right thing by the animals you take in.

The buyout thing isn't ideal either, but if it saves horses already not in the best of conditions from going through an auction or three, it would be totally worth it and might save some horses that would otherwise not be savable by the time you got them.

But no, they want a few pennies so they drag the poor things to auction 😢

Hi guys, watching ur dilemma with the glue and keeping the extension on foot of the chestnut horse, my mind kept going to the hoof GP, I am sure u guys know him the Scottish dairy’s cows go to for all hoof problems, he uses amazing glue to secure blocks onto the cows hoof and in some cases huge bulls the glue he uses would be perfect for the situation you guys were in and I’m sure you would find uses for it in the future. ( you probably already have something like this but just in-case I wanted to mention it ).Thank you horse plus what you do for the horses is what love truly is, and there aren’t enough adjectives to describe how wonderfully amazing you are.
