Josie from NC. I’m so glad you are here with us in our home. I’ve been watching you for quite awhile and you’ve answered so many questions that I had. My husband was on Hospice and I’m on Palliative Care, so often I would get confused. And you have helped me tremendously. So please continue doing what you do best. Thank you..thank you.

Julie, Found out two days ago my husband's colon cancer has spread and he has 8 months to live. We are 71. I just cannot help but cry and feel overwhelmed at how it will look and all the things I need to take care of that I don't even know yet. Love you channel. I just feel like running away...........

Thank you so much for answering my question about VSED during the live. I learned about VSED from one of your videos.I worked in the medical field but had never heard of it. I am 57,chronically ill with PAD, Atherosclerosis, brittle diabetic, polycythemia vera, copd, 4-5 stage peripheral neuropathy, which is now started in y hands...and severe gastroparesis. I've already had a dbl cabbg, and now have 2 blockages on the lower left side of my heart.. lost my insurance and now have been off my meds for almost a year. My Dr.s won't give me a time frame, but said I am a ticking time bomb. Eating is painful and I end up either throwing it up or skipping it all together. I asked you if it was considered suicide because my family is telling me it is and making me feel guilty for considering this choice. Thank you so much for your videos, they have brought me a lot of knowledge and comfort.

My mom (who died at 88 of old age) used to tell me that in the last seven years we decline in the same way we developed in the first seven years of life. Many death doulas compare the dying process with the birth process where the body (of the new born and of the mother) just knows what to do and it is wise for the mom and family to be educated to know that to expect, what is normal and when to solicit help. But returning to my mom’s observation, I think in the case of natural / old age death, and even in some diseases, it is quite true. We go from being active and energetic to slowing down to the point where others have to take care of us, to the point where all we want to do is sleep and stare. And if we do have any interaction, it’s mainly reflexes - just like a brand new infant. Your thoughts?

Palliative and hospice is different. Could be the reason dialysis might not be advised for hospice.

Don't do live call ins. Trust me, you will regret it. To many people are hooligans, and you will be forced to answer a question you may not want to answer. Because of your line of work, dying people will call you and make a private, sad conversation very public.
