To be fair, people back then might have thought that once girls begin to have their period, they were old enough to have children. I do really think it’s weird, that evolution would make girls able to have children so early, when the body is clearly not ready for it, and prime birth age is 25, evolution has failed in that way, which nature doesn’t often do to such a degree, really confuses me. Wonder how it is for other animals, the age of when they can have offspring, compared to when the body is ready, and the level of death, injury, or other problems at the earliest possible birthing age. If people couldn’t have children till 25 for instance, I could understand to some degree the survival of the fittest rule of nature, but if a majority of girls giving birth at 12 og 13 years old wouldn’t make it, cause the body is simply too small, that’s again where the human evolution doesn’t make sense. But I do think, that people who are either overweight, live unhealthily, or just have bad genes, men and women, should not have children in any way, it will be the downfall of human race, if there’s not some form of survival of the fittest left, cause nature keeps evolving, and humans must too.

I'm almost positive that I saw an interview of GRRM talking about finally getting a chance to write more about Daemon when talking about the Fire and Blood book when he first was promoting it, and saying he is one of those character in his head that he just enjoys coming up with stories for. Daemon is on dragonstone, the Targaryens owned it since the days of valyria and Jon met Dany there. Dragonstone is where the heirs reside.
@AllTheArtsy2 жыл бұрын
I think Rhaenys is rightfully envious of the position Rhaenyra is in as named heir, but she's also looking out for her in her own way, because she knows that her ambitions will definitely be denied, overthrown and that the pledges to her ultimately will mean nothing as soon as a male heir becomes available. She's become jaded and realistic due to her own experience. I think she might be rooting for the young heir, but ultimately expects her path to go the way of her rejected dreams of ruling too.
@jaymanuel33962 жыл бұрын
I don’t think she’s envious, I believe she’s just trying to knock some sense into Rhaenyra. If the king marries her daughter, they will have a friendly alliance. If the king marries Allicent, Rhaenys knows the type of man Otto is. He will basically take over after the king dies.

Lord Corlys had enough. His family is the greatest indepent power in the realm, the wealthiest, came from a storied Valyrian descent far more ancient than the Targaryens themselves, and most importantly of royal bloodline as well - and he and his had been passed over twice. Viserys cannot find a far more suitable bride. But he has been blinded by fear and passion - fear of Lord Corlys seemingly growing power and influence and passion for Alicent Hightower. Oh, how much bloodshed would have prevented if Viserys just chose Laena Velaryon.

@@xerxeszero586 @Mahek Shah Yes. If Lord Corlys really wanted power, he could have easily do so. House Velaryon is the richest and most powerful family in Westeros, moreso than House Lannister and Hightower combined. His house has 3 dragon riders - his wife Rhaenys on Maelys, his daughter Laena on Vhagar (the biggest dragon during those time) and his son Laenor on Seasmoke. During the Great Council many lords also supported Leanor's claim such as the Baratheons, the Starks, the Manderlys, the Blackwoods, and most of the noble houses of the Stormlands, the North and the Crownlands. Viserys' insecurities got the better of him, or he had just fallen into Otto' schemes. Oh, and yes Corlys married her daughter to Daemon having 3 children - Lady Baela, Lady Rhaena and an unnamed son. Rhaenyra was married to Laenor and begot 3 sons (well atleast legally lol) - Prince Jacaerys, Prince Lucerys and Prince Joffrey. Corlys later had his grandchilden be betrothed to each other with Prince Jacaerys to Lady Baela, Prince Lucerys to Lady Rhaena and Prince Joffrey to the youngest daughter of Lord Demond Manderly. Interestingly enough, it is rumored that Prince Jacaerys actually fell in love with another girl and married her - she was the daughter of Rickon Stark, Lord of Winterfell - named Sara 😉 Daemon and Rhaenyra woukd soon wed and begot 2 more sons - Prince Aegon and Prince Viserys.

Like Rheanyra I also lost my mom far too soon, and while the pain has gotten easier to bear, like Viserys said it’s a pain that will *never* go away. This is the reason I loved Game Of Thrones, not only for the large scale battles or political machinations, but especially these genuine and beautiful moments of love, friendship and family. As for the characters, the way Rheanyra rode Cyrax in and confronted Daemon was such a badass power move! She has the bravery of Dany, the temperament of Jon Snow, and the ingenuity of Sansa. I would definitely kneel before her. And Daemon is already a complex character, I thought he was actually ready to go to war with his brother but at the end of the episode we see that he gets pissed when Corlys insults Viserys.

Even without Caraxes, Daemon alone with Dark Sister could have taken them all out if it came to it, I think), but left impotent in the face of Rhaenyra and Syrax. You do guys realise that even in 20th century people were marrying and having kids at 15-16 years old. Even now in many countries and cultures this is still a custom.

I would rather trust Daemon than Otto, though. I haven't read fire and blood so I'm not sure what'll happen. But the way Otto manipulated Viserys into making him think Daemon is the enemy when in fact he has been maneuvering his plans behind his back. I think those are the type of people you should be more worried about. Otto is a snake based on what I can see so far.

@@ariathefirst6495 huh? I’m referring to The King trusting Otto. Otto is always taking shots at Dameon ever chance he gets, and if I was Viserys couldn’t trust him

@@jLachelle3 lol okay. I thought you were talking about Daemon. 😂 yeah you're 100% right. Funny how Viserys is very oblivious to this.

Teenagers are adolescents--neither children nor adults, but they are physiologically closer to adults than to children because they are post-pubescent. Maybe you could argue that young teenagers (13-14-year-olds) are like children, but certainly anyone 15-years-old or older are not children in any way; they are minors but minor is not a synonym for child.
