I cried my eyes out twice.😢 When she found the dragon on the beach and then when the older son came to talk to her and tried to talk business/fight through the tears. PERFECT ACTING!

Also, Helaena is very much coded in this show as being on the spectrum, which is not the case in the books. So to me it tracks perfectly well that Helaena is not properly processing emotionally what she’s watching.

Lucerys was Daemon’s blood. He was his Nephew and Step-Son. He literally had tears in his eyes in episode 10 when he told Rhaenyra about Luke’s death.

In the book they kill Jahaerys not Maelor, she chose Maelor because he was only 2 years old and she felt he wouldn’t know what was happening. Instead they killed the older son and that wrecks her so much because they left Maelor alive and the guilt she feels because she chose him to be killed drives her insane. She can’t even bring herself to look at her child anymore.

They DO kill Jaehaerys in the books as well, but it’s AFTER Helaena chooses Maelor to be the one to die. One of them bends down to Maelor and says “See boy, your mama wants you dead” and then turns around and takes Jaehaerys’ head instead.

The love for Otto always baffles me. The idea that he always has the realm in mind. And the hate for Daemon. He is a shithead at times, but i do believe he loved his brother, and many times he acted up because he could see how Otto is manipulating Viserys, he showed more love and consideration towards a stranger than his own brother. And Otto did manipulated Viserys to get his own blood on the throne.(I wouldn't be surprised if he had anything to do with the death of Viserys's father. He was hand of the king, and right after Otto became hand). No matter what Alicent claims now, this was always the plan, she slapped Aegon when he was abusing maids telling him he will be king one day. How did she thought Rhaenyra will simply bend the knee...have no idea, she really lives in her own made up world. Sorry for the long rant, but Aemond was right "Alicent is upset with me when she and grandsire were planning to usurp Rhaenyra all along"

The thing is, regardless of what alicent heard or don’t hear or misunderstood from what viserys said; Otto and Co. were already planning to Userp the throne so all this would have happened regardless, they just now have a somewhat legitimate justification

I havent read the book, but It sounds like the getting the support of the riverlands will key for the upcoming season, as it is one of the major powers in Westeros yet to delcare their alliagance. The region can raise a large army if or the houses are all on the same page. Should be interesting however, as some of the Houses of the Riverlands have a history of infighting and bad-blood between each other.

"Blood" isn't part of the Kingsguard. He's part of the "Gold Cloaks" which is the city watch that Damon was the "commander" of in Season 1, their version of the local police-guard force of Kings Landing. The Kingsguard ("White Cloaks") like Criston Cole, Jamie Lannister, Barristan Selmy are 7 knights assigned specifically to guarding the King. They all forsake their own houses, property and take vows of Chasity like The Nights Watch. It's 7 because of the seven-pointed star of their faith, there is practically to it as well because there are 7 days in a week and they can take alternate shifts in guarding the King without getting burned out. When they aren't guarding the King they are guarding the royal heirs, royal family & the hand. They can only be appointed or dismissed by an existing King or death, usually the oldest or best fighter is the "Lord Commander" who is in charge of them, their posts & administrative functions when the King isn't giving them orders. They are generally regarded as the best fighters in ALL of the land *if* the position wasn't a handout for political reasons, which up until Joffrey Baratheon it wasn't. The entire order was created on the insistence of Visyena Targaryan (Aegon The Conqueor's warrior sister) that Aegon The King could be killed at any moment by an assassin and needed dedicated men to give their lives for him and protect him.

Oh damn….that is true! Especially if Larys’s handmaiden tells him that Haelaena was alone when these dudes showed up. But Alicent will carry the blame too and it might put an end to her and Christen which could send that temperament, love sick, puppy boy over the edge.

In the books they make Helena choose which son to kill and she chooses the younger one Meahlor because she thinks he is too young to know what is going on and not the heir to the throne . But Cheese taunts Meahlor and says he mommy wants him dead and they kill Jeaharies anyway all why taunting the kid his mom wanted him dead . Helena goes crazy from this and theories from fans is that Lary’s is Cheese in disguise causing chaos

I have a funny feeling the changes to the end of the episode may be an indicator of what's to come in terms of adaptation from the new showrunner, this was the weakesr "adapted" sequence of this series (not counting GoT, that had some far worse lol) so i am skeptical at the moment.

Book readers are tried of everything being a mistake. Aemond didn’t mean to kill Lucerys he just wanted to scare him; Daemon wanted Aemond killed but Jaeherrys was killed. Everything is a mistake, We want characters that make decisions and stick with them. Too many mistakes.
