I want to be like them when i grow old!! Such a great idea to restore and build such beauties. I always thought it would be great to build my own boat, but i lack the time right now in my late 40´s but im definitively decided to do it when i retire. Wonderful and inspiring video! Thanks so much!

These places are so important for the elderly especially men with the same mind set. It does so much to build friendships and help with mental health I take my hat off to the guys amazing teamwork amazing men. I wish I live in Australia to meet and work with these people so impressive. | Thanks Paul for sharing this video. I work on my own trying to get my boat ready for the water and wish I had this kind of support invaluable. To the guys a message you are a credit.

Thanks for being here to video the big day and Thus Spake Zaranthustra was the perfect music! Today is the first time it's been back out of the carport because it's just been too windy to work on rigging and, if I'm honest, the wind was the perfect excuse to take some time off after a near solid 18 months! So it' will be a few more weeks yet as the wind still isn't really obliging

You should take a look at a Swedish channel RAN sailing husband and wife world sailors decided to build their own 50ft wood cored boat .. built the hull upside down then had to take it out of the barn and turn it over ...just the two of them. Its nerve racking and you can tell hes a very focused guy. You guys built a really nice boat and beautifully. finished though.. Men with sheds is a solid gold concept.. especially with things like comunity progrcts and getting younsters involved.

SKL is a serious improvement of KZbin. Apart from Starship news, KZbin is a pretty dreary medium. The Rathmines ships will not sail to Mars. Yer the spirit is the same. To build a ship to sail to somewhere. Does it matter where? Not really. Thanks Paul!

Hate being a troll with old English words. I know by mils you were referring to millimeters, but a mil is 1/1000 of an inch, which would make 20 mils a tiny bit over 1/2 a millimeter, and 30 mils just over 3/4s of a millimeter I did enjoy the video, thank you
@SailingKateLouise
@SailingKateLouise 2 ай бұрын
err... not sure you are right about that 1 mm is 1000th of a metre which is approximately .787 of an inch. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul

I've only ever known a thousandth of an inch as a thou. Common terminology in Australia when we used imperial.

@@SailingKateLouise I’ve seen the .787 being referred to as the bore diameter of a 20mm cannon A meter is 39.36 inches So 1/1000 of a meter would be 39.36 times 1/1000 of an inch So 20 times 1/1000 of an inch would be just over 1/2 a millimeter The other response told me Australians use a different term for what 1/1000 of an inch then is commonly used in North America
