I had the pleasure of watching this all unfold in real time, and let me tell you, the NGS community (In particular the former CM, their orbiters, and the content creators who do all they can to be a niche internet microcelebrity) are the most detestable people on the planet. Even watching the more "popular" players on twitter while this went on, people were cheering for this garbage and hating on Bolt for shining a light on their own bad behavior. I know this comment will likely get lost in the sea here, but to anyone who's reading this and either thinking about playing NGS, or still playing and were unaware of this bull: Run away now. Honestly, I feel vindicated. I was playing PSO2 since it's beta in 2010. Back when we had to manually patch shit looong before Tweaker. I saw it's lows and it's very tremendous highs. Then NGS rolls around and after it's *horrible* integration process into a great game, it finally comes out. Day 1 it was awful. My friends said I was being extra, but look at the game now. It was shit day one. And it's shit now. I got back in to see if they had improved ANYTHING after a year. They are making you run around Aelio. Again.

I was there through most of this. In and out of the community. Its likely that Sega pushed the copyright strike as a way of damage control. syberbolt shed light on how unstable and unhinged their lead Community manager's behavior was throughout their employment term and just like every other corporate empire, they did damage control. Gwiz got a demotion (didn't fully fire them and we all know why) and syberbolt got banned from the game and then silenced on youtube. Its really atrocious, astonishing and downright disgusting SEGA doesn't do a better job at vetting employees and how they handle their dying game, its community and its content creators. I'm a person fairly well known on my server of PSO2 as being a Mecha guy and have been playing regularly for years. At the risk of being targeted by sociopaths I would like to say, I never liked GWIZ from the beginning and celebrated when they got kicked off PSO2's team. An unreasonable amount of my favorite games community is flooded by cringe horny weirdos and I just want to be a cool robot fighting cool monsters. I've been harassed in game for admitting to reporting people spamming general chat in the most populated city in the game with ERP and custom pornographic imagery messages. I have a block list a mile long because so many people in the games community have no filter or any kind of self awareness or social cadence. But, I've met a few like minded people like me who are just as frustrated with these players and are playing the game for the Sci-Fi, gameplay, Mecha, and/or expansive character creator and they make toughing through the rest of the community tolerable.

For anybody wondering, the game itself is horribly boring and has less than 1600 daily players spread over 4 dead servers, many speculate that it'll shut down by the next year. The whole drama surrounding syberbolt and Mr. Elisa is probably more engaging than the game itself.

This is only accounting for *Steam*, when the PC version is available through Steam, the Microsoft Store, and EGS. It's also available on Xbox and Playstation, and is crossplay, and a lot of players do play the game through playstation. The top Alliance in Ship 2 is about a third Playstation players.

Each block can fit 200 per block, so if you look at how full the blocks are, you can get a rough idea of how many players are online at once. The highest it reaches throughout the day is between 4000-5000 across all platforms, and it keeps dropping. These player numbers are bad and you can really feel it of late, the game feels dead outside of the content they funnel you into.

You can visit 70% populated blocks just to find 3 people in the lobby.

Keep in mind that blocks are for all the content for that specific region, so people will be split up. @@AbdAbdAbdAbd 1. The obvious elephant in the room is the amount of NSFW stuff in game such as symbol arts having nsfw content in them Ex. opening player shops you'd often see weird stuff in them. Players could also spam these symbol arts in chat it would be shown to everyone in the vicinity(thankfully Sega added an option to hide them). 2.There also was the NSFW mods which is a huge can of worms personally I haven't looked into it from what I heard it mostly comes from some discord groups. 3. There were streamers who were sponsored by Sega that were bombarded with racism & NSFW content. This led to the event being canceled. 4. There also was was some stalking going on with certain creators, I believe that was Kronos & syberbolt Honestly there probably is more stuff that hasn't been exposed, I don't play the game anymore so yeah :P

I've been playing the game and regularly keeping up with news for it since launch and this happened along side GWIZ leaking info regarding their internal criticisms of SEGA during a official live stream shortly before as well. I was even there for the live stream and they were muted mid stream and continued talking without audio for several minutes before the stream being cut cold several hours before it was scheduled to end. So most people assumed that both the localization debacle and that specific stream lead to them being let go.

I'm one of those many former players who toughed it out during NGS's post-launch content drought period that gave it a fighting chance to see its growth moving forward. While I appreciate them for adding in new regions, gear or side stuff to keep occupied, I quit playing for good around last year due to burn out, content recycling and other myriads of issues that's probably been mentioned more than once. Prior to watching Syberbolt's Disaster Trilogy, I've too witnessed a fair amount of unhinged coomers, narcissistic pricks and passive-aggressive tryhards in-game that not only came and went throughout those two years of playing, but that shit overall ended up making the game less enjoyable to play, ESPECIALLY during Urgent Quests. EDIT: I gave it another go around earlier in April this year, and all I can say is that I'm not missing out on anything in particular, lmao.

I used to play the game but left due to many of the issues that Syberbolt talked about in his video. Well that's unfortunate. I was there for PSO2's debut in the West on Xbox One in 2020 and played for about two weeks before stopping. Wanted to try New Genesis but my 2015 PC was still not dealing with it well, so figured I'd revisit one day...not so much now It will never cease to amuse me how these community managers can't just do their freakin' job and insist on becoming some authoritarian clown that throws their weight around.
