It's stunning to me that people today still judge a quarterbacks performance and greatness based on skill alone. Joe Montana and Tom Brady were probably two of the less physically gifted quarterbacks to play in the NFL, yet they won again and again and again while specimens lime Aaron Rodgers and Dan Marino failed to do so again and again...... And while there are tons of other aspects to whether a team wins or loses, it seems fairly evident that Brady and Montana we're simply the most gifted leaders of men, which in the end becomes the only meaningful benchmark of who is the greatest quarterback of all time
@ChrisDelChris3 күн бұрын
Yeah it just feels from the outside like Rodgers views himself to be above it all. And not to delve into tabloid nonsense his history with relationships and family outside of the sport seem to mirror how the other Jets players feel about him too. Meanwhile you have terrible teams like the Giants where players are coming out and speaking highly of Daniel Jones despite the absolute train wreck it’s been on the field. Rodgers from 2008 to 2017 largely did everything one would expect from a HoF championship caliber QB. Anyone that actually watched those playoff runs during those years knows he was consistently undermined by the buffoonery of Mike McCarthy and the late game collapses of Dom Capers defense. There was literally game after game where Rodgers put the team in a position to win only to have Caper’s defenses give up a game winning score in the final moments. Rodgers from 2018-2024 is a different beast all together. He became arrogant, stubborn, undermining his coaches, lacking of accountability, forcing the ball only to players “he trusts”. Even those two latter MVP seasons were misleading. Sure he put up amazing stats, padding them up by zeroing in on Davante Adams incessantly, come playoff time all of those negative attributes came back to haunt the packers.

Rogers is not a victim. He's also the most overrated QB of all time as far as I'm concerned...and I'm a Packers fan. Rogers isn't as good as Brady, Payton Manning, John Elway, Mahomes, nor Steve Young. I don't care if he throws a "pretty" ball or occasionally throws a deep one off his backfoot. Let me explicitly layout his major flaws: • he's a horrible leader + deva • he's a toxic teammate • he's a narcissist who can't take being coached, critiqued, and definitely not criticism • he's a selfish player that won't throw a ball into tight windows or deep often to maintain his completion stats These are not trivial things...especially for a QB. When I hear someone say he's still the absolute best of all time, I have to suppress my projectile vomit reflex. He's simply not. The people that still praise Rogers as the best QB of all time either do so because they've been programmed to say so and/or are cultist that like him because he went on Rogan, talked absolute bs about vaccines, and jumped on the Trump train. Rogers is not a victim, does not deserve sympathy, and no he's not the best of all time. He's destroyed the Jets and blamed everyone else along the way. It's actually enough in my mind that he should definitely not be a first balad Hall of Famer.

My guess is that Woody was angry and wanted to punish someone. Unfortunately, the real culprit was himself and he does not have the introspection necessary to learn from his mistakes. The next biggest problem was Aaron, but sunk cost falacy, the fact that he is still the best QB option for them, contract stipulations, and the scorched earth media campaign Rodgers would go on immunized him. And since he already fired the head coach, that left Douglas as the target.

When the Jets get honest and start calling themselves what they are, the New Jersey Jets, mabye they will start winning.

I'll admit my bias as a Vikings fan in always hating Aaron Rodgers but at least now i feel a little more justified in my hatred of him.

Rodgers isn’t leading the Jets to the playoffs, but what has he actually done to deserve this. He plays his best, but his best isn’t good enough. The guys deserves a break, never once has he buried anyone around him.

Mecole Hardman, Mike Williams, Rober Saleh. To name a few off the top of my head.

As a lions fan seeing Aaron fail and be outed as the loser and egotistical asshole that he’s been since 2020 makes me so happy

Who still think Rodgers was better than Brees? Yeah…give the RIGHT man the credit of one of the best. Rodgers, he doesn’t live up to the real meaning of being “one of the best”

I don't care about A Rods political stuff. If he was praising the other side of the aisle's stances he'd be a goddamn social media hero with the amount of fame he has, but that's neither here nor there to me personally. I do however care about him playing like dogshit. How an athlete performs is the only thing I care about and sadly, A Rod is not holding up his end of the bargain tbh and it's kind of sad to see from one of the best QB's to ever play the game. Basically no one can play at that age tho. There is a reason why Brady is so above and beyond special. QB's at 40 are a... rough state of affairs in this game tbh. Even Manning got carried by one of the absolute best defensive units to ever exist in sports. The Jets 100000000% do not have even a top half defense let alone one capable of single-handedly winning a SB.
