HOW and WHY I STOPPED BUYING MAKEUP

I have stopped buying makeup and also stopped watching most beauty KZbin videos , they all do the same thing. Review the same products , cake it on and most are getting it all for free, and telling you how you have to buy it ! Over it !

@@bonbonzz most of the beauty KZbin girls (& guys) wear soooooo much makeup. I hope it's just for the channel and not walking around like that. It's so beyond full face. Doesn't look good to me. I still believe the point is to enhance, maybe cover some imperfections. But I totally don't recognize them when bare face.

Totally agree - I did know a girl who wore full face makeup everyday and it actually looked gross it was so cakey. She probably got that from some tutorial. But camera makeup and daily makeup is so different. I've always worn a full face of makeup in my videos but because I'm light handed with it I sometimes get people asking why I only wear lipstick 😆

K Ham and they use an extremely bright light and filter so we think we’ll look that flawless if we use that product. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I literally have 2 of everything and I’m happy with that. Watching people declutter makeup is crazy. So much money wasted.

I totally get you! I looked at my collection and literally chucked so much away! because it was so old. I have sucha small collection now days and I only buy what I need.

I was a makeup addict.Now I'm trying not to buy a new one.Back in 2018 I had a minimal collection,but I suddenly started to but eyeshadow palettes,all lip shades which even doesn't go with my skin tone.

It's so easy to do, especially when it's shades you see people wearing on KZbin!

Good on you. Makeup is so expensive and you only need a few things to look great. Just be aware of the expiry periods for different products. You can risk serious damage to your eyes if you expired products or use them beyond the recommended time after opening. I think that it is only 3 months for mascara etc.

Yay for you, girl! I don't buy (or wear) much at all, only to work or a night out. Life long hippie chick. But I'm so over all this consumption. It's hard though. When I see my roommate buy a grip of shoes or beauty products, I'm jealous for a minute. I have everything I need, period.

It's hard sometimes to talk yourself out of new things that other people have. I still buy clothes quite often cause that really is a love of mine, but makeup was more of a phase for me and now I barely even look at it

@@bonbonzz I recently got into Stitch Fix and I really like it. I get quarterly or monthly packages depending on my cash flow/bills. I really like it for a number of reasons: they pick out things I might not think of or choose, it's high quality so I end up keeping like one or two items I like the most. That's better for me than getting a pile of lower quality stuff from Target or similar, just to get a lot of stuff. My stylist has gotten better over time picking things that are my style. I'm plus size: 18 on top and 22 on bottom, so that adds challenge re: fashion. They seem to find denimn and blazers that I probably wouldn't find on my own. I watch a couple clothing haul channels, but I've never seen someone review Stick Fix. Highly recommend!!

I remember watching this video when you first posted it but here to watch it again 😊 2022 is the first year I haven't really purchased any makeup and it's been about 10 months since buying eyeshadow (my weakness).

And IMAGINE if everyone THOUGHT like this ALOT OF BIG COMPANIES would go broke. It’s also crazy interesting to know that the reason why they keep making “”””””””” all these new palettes “””””"” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 is to KEEP us a customer and THEM producing.

There will always be people who buy makeup. This video was mostly explaining why I'm not buying as much anymore and perhaps to help others who have decided their money would be better spent elsewhere
