I took my two daughters and one of their friends to our local book store, where the owner, a Black woman, had agreed to share her experiences in segregated America as a young girl. The three girls were spellbound, listening to every word, and so terribly upset that their friend would have gone through such experiences - receiving the desks and textbooks that the white schools discarded; being waited on last in restaurants or in stores, when shopping with her white friends. That evening has lasted with all of us for decades.

I don't talk to my kids about racism, I don't mention that they have a friend of a different color or disability or gender , they are taught to love all people. If they have a problem with someone it's about the person and the attitude . Kids are blind to hate it's the adults who color their world with the hate

Her lessons were more necessary back then when racism was really prevalent and almost every household was actually teaching racism to the next generation. Nowadays instead of teaching the idiocy of treating someone differently based on their melanin content, kids' minds are being warped to such extreme degrees that now we can't even define what a woman is anymore. Life used to be so simple, treat everyone equally and not based on the colour of their skin but their character.

It’s real simple, Judge a person by the content of their character not the color of their skin, treat other people as you would want to be treated, and don’t penalize a person for some else’s mistakes. The quickest way to make someone a racist, is to illegitimately call him one.

Nothing wrong with the exercise in learning how not to be , and that we all should realize how we are all loved by God regardless of our outward physical appearances. But I also know when going deeper into Janes message , she has a darker side that can also come as an Angel of Light with an ulterior motive. It is right to have all children know they are all valued greatly, and that by definition racism is wrong. We are but one race and should be always taught the Golden Rule, To Love one another as our Lord so Loves us, and to also understand the meaning behind treating others as you would want to be treated in kind. If this exercise can convey this message, so be it. Beyond searching out a boogie man where he does not exist may be another subject matter, especially if the experiment tries to ensue the same racism tactics that its attempting to erase by singling out kids who happen to only be of a particular skin tone.

How Can Anyone In Their Right Mind Derive A Dark Message From The Way Jane Elliott Has Spoken Against Racism With The Goal Of Promoting That We Are Just 1 Human Race... How In Any Way Is It Ungodly For Her To Do So?... If Her Experiments Cause White Children To Feel Exactly What People Of Color Live With In America Then She's Teaching Them From Their Own Experiences Of It Not To Become The Hateful, Ignorant, Oppressor.... There's Absolutely No Wrong In Her Message Of Anti Racism
@CRUISERJ1
@CRUISERJ1 2 жыл бұрын
@@XiiXiByNikki She has obviously addressed many problematic issues that are for certain injustices that are put upon all of mankind throughout the history of mankind. The only problem with her message is that it goes too far in the direction that we now see with the hot topic of Critical Race Theory. Which alleges that White bad and evil, Black good and without the ability to do any wrong. The better message is to be inclusive by addressing the behaviors of what is inherently evil and then praise what is righteous and good. Martin Luther King had a much deeper and a more sustainable Truth to the matter of racism than does Elliot. Not to say that her exercises don't help in making young kids better understand what division and separation do to the Human experience. But if that's is a goal to gain 100% equality in respect of others as in all people, then BLM misses the mark as well. It should be all lives matter greatly.

To hate someone simply because they don’t look like you, (which none of us had anything to do with. That was in God’s hands), is the lowest form of ignorance. That makes it a stupid mindset. So the only thing stupider than racism, is the person who practices it.

kids as young as 4yo start picking up cues about racism when they see the way others act around them. it doesn't have to be an intense conversation. but you should start making them aware of how other people get treated unfairly and teaching them that it's wrong. otherwise, you're just ignoring the problem. by the time they're in elementary school, they've already started learning racism.
