“The purpose of propaganda is to so shape people’s perception of reality, that even when confronted with a mound of evidence, they will not change their minds.” -Erwin Lutzer

You just descriped religious indoctrination there. The purpose of religion is to bash doctrines in to the head of young people so that no matter of what evidence they are confronted with when they get older they still dont dare to change their mind.
@conlyn75843 жыл бұрын
@@grimlund you make a good point and there are lots of religions that bash people into submission. The difference between religion and true Christianity is that we are taught to seek truth through prayer and scripture. Although it is wise to seek counsel from pastors, teachers and biblical scholars, we are also taught not to esteem them more highly than anyone else. Human wisdom can filled with pride, self serving motivation, and imperfections whether intentional or unintentional. A warning sign for propaganda is that you are berated for your beliefs or unbelief, that you have the audacity to question the 'propaganda', and you are shunned or silenced because of your opposition. Faith is a journey and no one can demand that you believe or don't believe the gospel of the scriptures, instead a Christian's response should be to walk alongside you as you work out those beliefs.
@grimlund3 жыл бұрын
@@conlyn7584 How do you know that your scripture is the true one? If you were born in Afghanistan or Saudiarabia you would most likely believed in Allah and the Quran would have been the true scripture. Its so obvious that people choose their religion from their culture and were they grew up.
@conlyn75843 жыл бұрын
@@grimlund there's a point where you have to take the things you have been taught as a child and question the validity. Nobody is going to enter the kingdom of heaven because of their parents faith or religion, culture, social or political stance, etc. Only you are accountable for accepting or rejecting the things you have been taught. The God of the Bible promises that He will reveal Himself to those that seek Him, and there are many examples of people all over the world that have rejected various doctrines when they encountered the radical love and forgiveness of Jesus. When I became an adult and moved out of my parents home, I did wrestle with my childhood faith versus other religions. Christianity is not a blind faith but a daily process of mentally working out and finding answers to your very questions.

@@conlyn7584 The problem is that your belief is based on fear. You say that you want to enter the kingdom of heaven. What happen If you dont make it? Do you end up in hell? The fear of hell is the thing that makes christianity toxic. I have bashed the hell doctrine away. To me its unbelievible how a normaly sane person can believe in such a horrible thing. The hell doctrine is evil. I hate it. If you stop believing in that kind of nonsens you get a much healthier view of the world. The radical pastor is saying: "Lets pray for the one billion indians that are hindus and are on their way to hell!" I say. No. There is no hell. Relax and let people believe in what they want.

Or you can grow up, stop being bigots, ditch your imaginary friend, and live in reality for once.
@heavnxbound3 жыл бұрын
@@JulioVonGhoulio What’s your basis for claiming that God/Jesus is an imaginary person? Surely you must’ve come across at least *some* of the proof of Jesus’ existence and resurrection, and of God’s existence, now that we’re living in 2021 and have access to more knowledge and evidence than ever before. One obvious piece of evidence that you might’ve not realized, is that we’re living in year AD 2021 for a reason; Jesus quite literally split time in two. An imaginary person is not able to do that. We know from scientific data that the universe came into existence at one point, from nothing. Since it’s a scientific impossibility for nothing to create something, it’s logically reasonable to conclude that there must have been a first cause; something caused the universe to exist. Whatever caused the universe must exist outside of space, it must not be bound by time, and it must be immaterial; because whatever it was that created space, time, and matter cannot consist of space, time, and matter. It must be transcendent to be able to create those things. It must also be personal, to be able to will something into existence. So a spaceless, timeless, immaterial, and personal being. What does that sound like? God. God by definition is the uncaused causer, unmoved mover, and uncreated creator. It’s not my fault that you hate him, take that up with him, not us. Also, I feel it’s necessary to point out that you made an objective truth-claim when you said “grow up and live in reality for once.” Well, let me ask you this. How do you that your subjective perception of what reality is, is the true reality that everyone needs to adhere to? You’re assuming that your subjective opinion of ‘religion being unnecessary and false’ is the true reality. Your comments make it very apparent, that you believe your own personal perception of reality and your own opinions, are objectively correct. And you won’t accept or tolerate anyone who believes differently. Isn’t that the fundamental definition of bigotry? Being intolerant of opposing beliefs? So, in the process of telling us that what we believe is false, you claim that your own perception of reality is the true way of life, and you’re intolerant of everyone who disagrees with you. That’s not only hypocritical, it’s also highly unreasonable and bigoted.

@@lepardpaw The Bible is called the Living Word, as God can use it to speak to people in many ways. If I chose to limit God’s word to only context, then I wouldn’t hear His voice and I would only be reading the Bible as a historical document. If you put it in the literal context, Solomon is basically saying that you shouldn’t steal land from your neighbor. But, even scholars believe it could also mean, that our ancestors have gone through the same struggles in society that we have, and that they have set up rules and laws protecting us from the same struggles. Now dealing with Marxism, as Christians we’ve already rejected the theory, and apologists have even written books condemning it. Why would we want to move the boundary stones that these wise men have already put up? Do we know something that they don’t know about it? Marxism has NOT changed, it’s the same gift wrapped up in different contextual wrapping paper. We need to listen to what they have to say, and not be foolish enough to buy into what they’re selling.

"Jesus said, I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me" John 16:12-14 This prophecy fulfills no one better than the last prophet Muhammad. So, to believe in Jesus, you also have to believe in Prophet Muhammad.

You are absolutely right about the enemy's use of language. They love to play word games. By re-labeling deeds, they seek to make evil seem good, and good, evil. Here is a great, famous quote that doesn't even come from the bible that you can use to fight against this. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare gave us this famous quote, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Simply put, calling anything by another name, or label doesn't change the essence of what a thing truly is. You can call roses, "Stink Flowers," and they will still smell sweet, or you can call dung, "Flower Food," and it will not reduce its stank. You can call an Unborn Child, "a fetus," or an "unwanted consequence" or whatever label is popular, and it doesn't change the fact that it is a child one bit. You can call Murdering an Unborn Child, "gardening," or "removing unwanted tissue," or abortion, and it doesn't change the reality of the action by one bit, nor diminish its evil.

I've been listening for 20 minutes; I'm hearing too much politics and not enough of the Bible. I don't see unity, love, and justice. I'd much more like to hear the Biblical solution. Thank you for your platform; I look forward to hearing more about how Christ would lead and love if he were living on earth today.

@@Summer-sc1ph I know the topic is relevant to Christians. My issue is the language. They’re clearly biased against the left when the right has many unbiblical ideas too.
@hanab8373 жыл бұрын
That is because the "unity, love and justice" you are thinking about are not biblical. God is a divider and a just judge. He does not call for us to unify with deception or let a government take away the freedoms HE gave us.
@joyeeverett61963 жыл бұрын
@@hanab837 We’re not on the left (I’m not anyway). I don’t have a political leaning...both sides are so extreme and teach stuff that misses the whole picture. That’s why I’d rather we judge bad ideas based on the Bible and NOT based on partisan/political standards.

Thanks for this thoughtful video. As a Christian I think there’s so much to wade through and part of my concern is that Christians in America are so entrenched in the politics of America that we use “left” or “conservative” lenses rather than Jesus lenses. My call is to follow and obey Jesus regardless of how it “fits” into a political position. I am called to build the kingdom, not a capitalist or Marxist society. As a Christian individual, I am responsible for myself and my family. BUT Jesus calls me to love my neighbor. The Good Samaritan shows us the example of a person who goes out of their way to take care of someone in need. Jesus freely gave the loaves and fishes to anyone who was there and he didn’t charge anyone. As Christians, do we have a responsibility to our neighbors and community, to lift one another up? Is it just that in a wealthy country like ours that a family has to go bankrupt to treat their child for cancer? Can we find a better way? Are we called to rail against people with opposite political beliefs than us or to love or serve them? Does God or Jesus spend their time and effort rebuking the practices of unbelievers OR believers/Gods people that are misbehaving? Is it important to simply be truthful about the roots of our nation? Can we admit the atrocities and also see the good things that have happened? As Christians, should we listen and make space for black brothers and sisters who have experienced racism in their lives? You seem to be adamant about talking about the current administration but no thoughts towards the evils present in the previous administration and the aftermath (January 6th). This all feels very disingenuous. There’s a lot of time spent on the speck in liberal’s eye but not the plank in conservatives’ eye.

I appreciated you having someone like Erwin Lutzer on. He is among many eye-opening Christian scholars of this age. He was even the author of the book "Hitler's Cross." Very eye-opening book as well. I wonder, Alisa, if you know about and have ever tried to get another like-minded pastor on for an interview by the name of Chuck Baldwin? He is a convert out of mainstream evangelicalism, and has a pretty remarkable story about his life. He also runs a fellowship in northwest Montana called "Liberty Fellowship." It would be great if you ever do take the liberty to have him on very soon.

Wow! Thank you for that poignant discussion! It was and is very helpful in dealing with this wave of lying socialist propaganda. I was bullied as a substitute teacher and threatened with being blocked out of the school system because I did not call the classroom teacher, who was not there, "they" instead of "she." That was my intro into the new language they are forcing on people. So, this discussion is critical and I appreciate the specific biblical concepts mentioned and that are strengthening me in my defense of truth. Thanks!!

Brother Erwin’s book sounds fascinating and especially the similarities he used on tying the thoughts & beliefs of Marxism & Hitler’s ruling together. Very mind blowing! God bless you both Erwin & Alisa & your ministries!
